PS3 Thread

Only down to $499 here, which at the moment means it is $100US more than the US price. Likewise with how Europe get a straight currency symbol swap (though it is 250 pounds vs 299 euro).

Doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the big PS3.

My Glossy PS3 still wins battle of looks. Also some new updates abut this baby:

1) 250GB version might be in line to replace 160 GB
2) PS3 is more stable in standing position compared to PS3 Slim
3) Those who have tested PS3 Slim say its more noisy than fat cousin

But I am ready for swap. Any one in Chandigarh wants fat PS3?

The only thing stopping me from buying the PS3 is the PS2 compatibility issue. I don't care how cheap it is. Fix that and then I'll buy buying 3 PS3's. One for upstairs, one for downstairs and one for the car.

Why do you want backward compatibility? Brand new PS2 comes in price of two games.

And beside you will be buying game for PS3 not for PS2 if you have one.

But I just have so many PS2 games that I'd still like to play, I still play some classic PS1 games on my PS2 when my PS1 isn't connected to the TV.

Honestly, I felt the same. I then bought a PS3 and haven't touched a PS2 game since.

The slims gonna be out on the 26th of August here in Canada :)

Well PS3 Firmware 3.0 is available for upload and 2 new features which were not announced for it are also in it:

1) Simultaneous audio output across connectors
2) Control of video playback (slow motion, fast forward and rewind) using the right stick

What on earth is the first one?

The VP thing is funny. Two and a Half men played at x0.14 sounds hilarious.

There are always one or two you want to come back to, aren't there? It's bewildering that they still haven't included backwards compatibility

BC required emotion engine which was discontinued after first batch of PS3 fat's to reduce cost of the system.

Maybe with cost dropping they can have it back but that will require new purchase.
