IPL Pune Warriors India

News just coming in-Tamim has signed up with the Warriors. This should be a good team now.

Well they dont need 5 overseas in a lineup and If thats allowed and they field 5 overseas then its a ???? rule

I didnt undertand your question, Rohit. However, I'll attemot to answer and perhaps sort out your query.

IPL squads can have 11 foreigners in their squad. They can only play any 4 of them at any given pont of time. PWI lost the services of Yuvraj Singh and thus requested the IPL Governing Council for replacemnt for the same.
The GC allowed them to have an extra foreigner in their squad. However, they did not get the requisite permission from the other franchisees to field 5 in the playing XI. I hope that answers your question.

Read my earlier post- its clearly mentioned they cannot field more than 4 foreigners.

A new stadium was inaugurated in Pune today built by and named after as Subroto Roy Sahara. Warriors are to play 8-9 matches in IPL on this very ground. Well, by what they told in the ceremony, this stadium looks world class one. This stadium is expected to host International matches after IPL. Lets see how does the pitch acts on this and if Warriors can display better show than their rivals on their homeground.

I was just driving by on the Expressway, and the stadium is beautiful. Its a bit away from the city around 12 kms, but it looks majestic.

IPL hero turns farmer

For Kamran Khan the hero of 2009 IPL, his cricketing dreams came crashing down when Pune Warriors decided to drop him this year. The talented cricketer is now working in his brother's farm in Nadwa Sarai village in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh.

I read a detailed article on it almost a week back. Nothing to fuss about.
Every year several players are left out of their teams due to squad limitations, and Kamran Khan was the unlucky one.
And he hasn't turned into a farmer, he has a vacation and so is contributing to his brother's farm works.

Pune Warriors considering dropping Sourav Ganguly?

The Pune Warriors' management will, in all likelihood, have a brainstorming team meeting on the eve of their 14th round IPL clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore to decide Sourav Ganguly's fate for the remainder of the tournament.

The bone of contention is whether Ganguly, who has gone through a torrid time both as batsman and skipper, will sit out of the Warriors' last three encounters.

Team sources say the management wants the former India captain to take a call on his future in the remaining three matches.

"If Ganguly himself offers to step down from captaincy and decides to sit out for the remaining three games, the owners will certainly be only too happy to accommodate" a senior IPL official in the know of things said on Thursday.

In case Ganguly doesn't play, there is a possibility that Australia captain Michael Clarke or find-of-the-season Steve Smith will lead the side.

ganguly is a waste body and very bad man to have in your squad .he is done nothing for pune this season neither with the bat, bowl or in fielding .he himself took lot of matches for pune against dc were he decided to bowl 18 over and white smashed 25 run in that over.and also against mumbai he batted slowly 16 runs of 24 balls :mad
if i would have owner of pune i would have kicked him very quickly :rolleyes

I agree with that decision. I like Gangully as a player but I think Gangully has been ---- in IPL. KKR realized that in 2010 and dropped him in IPL 4, now Pune owners have also realized their mistake.

just saw extra innings t20 show and they were telling that steve smith as been given the captaincy .good decision i will say to remove ganguly as a captain but i don't think that is to good decision to give captaincy for smith when you got clarke in your squad .whatever might pune are already out they now just playing for pride

ganguly was with kkr for 3 season and 2 times he was the captain of kkr and he failed to take kkr to semi final and kkr was only team who din't qualified for semi final all the other 7 teams did. As soon as kkr kicked ganguly out from then onwards it almost like diwali for them qualified for play offs 2nd consecutive times. And i hope pune will do the same if ganguly plays in next season its almost like pune story will be same like was kkr failing to make into the playoff.i hope ganguly will be kicked soon :rolleyes
