Time to reveal..... My French gran used to say it when pegging out clothes on the washing line, it means clothes that are worn on the top half of a person are hung upside down, and clothes that are worn on the bottom half of a person are hung the right way up.
It's supposed to limit the need for ironing, but i don't see how!
