The Eve of The Practice Match

Me and Stu were over the moon with joy but we kept In our emotions until we got to the car and started to drive back to our home. We were so pleased that we were getting our first chance at playing in a professional cricket team and especially such a good quality team like Queensland. We got back to our house and opened a few beers but we knew we had to have an early night and not too much to drink as we had to get up early and we had the match tommorrow. Stu then went and checked the messages on the phone and called me over as we had one. We played it and the woman speaking said that Channel 9 would like to interview us on getting picked for tomorrows practice game and about their ambitions and so on for this season. Me and Stu sat down and spoke about it. We had good reasons for accepting it and good reasons for declining it. In the end we came to conclusion that we should just stay at home and cocnentrate on the game tomorrow and just chill. So Stu went and rang back Channel 9 and told them what we had decided In the end. For dinner we decided to get Chinese mine and Stu's favourite and we went to bed early at 9:30 to get a good nights sleep.
Tomorrow was the big day as our first game as a professional cricketer. To say we were excited was a massive understatement.​

Sorry for no recent update in the story but the match will come hopefully on Wednesday and we will be using Cricket 07

The Big Day

Me and Stu woke up early at 5:30 because we needed to get down to the GABBA early to practice. We were so excited we just couldn't get that much sleep last night. But we felt like we had enough energy to last for a few days without sleep. We had breakfast and showered before leaving the house at 6:30. In the car we talked about our strategies and how we hoped it would go today. We arrived at 7:30 at the stadium. The first ball was to be bowled at 10:30 so still 3 hours to go and all we wanted to do was get out onto the field. We got into the lounge area where most of the players were and got talking about the game ahead. We then got our training kit on and had a quick nets. Then we got into some fielding practice. Me and Stu both started badly with a dropped catch but we soon picked up our game. An hour and a half to go before we started and we spoke about game plans in the dressing room. The coach came to me and said he wanted a word outside. He told me not to be edgy when I get out to bat and to try and get on top of the bowlers early. He said play your natural game and just perform to the best of your ability. I headed back in and he gave Stu the same sort of talk as he did me. We all got into our Queensland gear and Jimmy headed down to the middle for the toss...​
