Rahul Dravid says Good bye to International Cricket

A few faces of India's youngsters must light up in joy now with this news.:yes

But nothing to take away from the Champion, RD!! Would certainly thank him for all those wonderful memories!:clap Probably India's best ever test player of his generation (and mind you, he existed in a generation lived by Tendulkar). That knock at the Eden Gardens 2001 and Adelaide 2003 will be fondly remembered for decades!

No can ever reach the heights of Rahul Dravid in Test Cricket. No One!

Is this due to India's increasing like for T20 cricket, or you really think India can't produce another Dravid when they produced 2x a better Gavaskar in Sachin?

The writing was on the wall and THE WALL read it well. Farewell to the batsman with the best defensive technique and temperament that I have ever seen. He is a role model for youngsters all over the world. His achievements were always overshadowed by Tendulkar and few other more glamorous bastmen of his era but the purists of the game have always known that he is no less than any of them.

Sachin, twice as good as Gavaskar?

That's some hyperbole there!

Good bye Rahul, I will miss you greatly. A gentleman first, and a quite remarkable batsmen second. One of the finest batsmen of his era.

I don't think India will produce a finer test batsmen in near future keeping in view their obsession with T20.

Tell me a person you think who'll give up playing ODI's and T20 just for the sake of Test Cricket and play like him in Test Cricket.

OMG...So sad:(
Dravid would be the World's topclass Batsmen for EVER...

Its always a pleasure watch his shots

i guess no more fun in the test matches know :(
best of luck to dravid for his future life

Would not have been the first he'd want to retire. Thought him and Tendulkar should have been the two oldies to hang around.

I genuinely think the England tour took it out of him. He gave his all in such a trivial series considering his teammates performance.

The thing for me though, is that even thought he got runs, he put down so many slip catches, and has barely caught anything in a while now. Add that to getting bowled countless times in Australia, and I think he probably felt his time was up. Not to mention, he probably recognises that someone has to move on to let the younger guys start playing! :)

One of my all time favorite cricketers plus a true gentleman. Test cricket will only get poorer following his retirement.

My favourite Indian player and one of my favourite all time players. Still remember the season he played for Scotland...

Dravid was no doubt was one class act. A Pure Test Batsman and certainly deserved to be called Wall in a way. He deserves a farewell and so he will get it. The gap will increase, India will have to hunt a lot to find a player like dravid
