Idk about that one, but since the prefix is used to describe the number of wheels (unicycle, bicycle, tricycle) and training wheels added makes it 4 wheels, then why wouldn't it be a quadcycle

Might be to do with the wheel size, 4 identical size of wheels makes a quadcycle. While a bicycle with two mini supporting wheels to provide cushioning is still just a bi-cycle technically.

They are relatively evenly sized. I know the front wheel is a bit larger but the rear ones aren't like super tiny.
