Random Thoughts

Under 10 is seriously fast, glad to see you guys enjoy drag racing as well. I always thought Americans got a bum rap for liking straight line racing and not circuit racing. Its not our fault that all our freeways are straight lines!

There is just something about a muscle car that appeals more to me than a curvy and sleek European sports car. Probably because I can actually take advantage of a big block engine when on the freeway.

It is, I believe it's the 2nd heaviest car in class, there's some big pick-up that's slightly heavier iirc. Drag Racing is in the blood too, Uncle raced on Bikes in the 80s and Dad half-built his own dragster, based on Renault 4 using an old Buick Aluminium block, still in the garage! I love American muscle cars, a friend has a 63 Corvette that he's re-building. Also some videos of his Mercury Cougar on there too, but that's not working atm after someone hit him (whilst parked), and spare parts for it will be impossible. Only about 14 in the country iirc. Currently got an S4 estate, running about 320hp, Quattro, so quite nippy.

A video of the re-built engine for the Corvette, awesome sound track too.

Ben, yeah, loads of torque, displacement is king for torque, and the Dodge is 9.6 litres. Not sure on torque figures, but it'll be around 1,000 lb-ft, maybe slightly under.

"Geoffrey was a great player in his own style," Sobers wrote. "He played within his limitations and didn't take too many chances with good balls or even half-good balls. Great players have to take good balls and turn them in to bad balls, but Geoff never seemed to be able to do that."

I would kill to see Boycotts face when he read that.

Omaha is a drawing game, thats why I stay away from it

If you have an understanding of the basic maths involved there is nothing wrong with playing draws. In fact because so many people will chase against the odds when playing you means it can be very profitible, although being pot limit it is harder to price people out.

Also people pay way over the odds when not even drawing to the nuts. That is suicide.

Just watched the pilot episode of Boardwalk Empire. It's set in the Prohibition era in USA, the 1920s. Scorcese is gun. Been waiting for the show for a while, and glad it lived up to my expectations.

Not a math person, my mind goes nuts trying to calculate the odds in holdem so I stay away from Omaha as much as possible.

A friend of mine who is probably the best poker player I know makes 90% of his winnings from cash Omaha games though.

Yea it was not as good as the 1st one but still funny. When Simon made out with that chick I cringed :p

Also Will is such a douche

I'm not being dramatic, but I think I might be dead. So if someone could call an ambulance, or my mummy please.

It was my old man's first episode, he did a couple of knowing chuckles when Simon choked after his first real drag.
