Random Thoughts

The thinking behind the 2nd amendment is basically that civilians should have the right to have weapons in case the government becomes totalitarian and must be overthrown.

Its a laughable idea now, but if the local people in the colonies were not armed, it would have made independence damn near impossible.

The purpose was to protect the people from the government, its about as libertarian as you can get.

I'm all for gun ownership, I just think it should be fiercely regulated and very expensive.

Dave Chappelle suggested that a bullet should cost $5000. That will reduce gun related murders for sure :laugh

Can someone tell me how to inset a link into a bit of text?

Sometimes I see people making a word in a sentence a link to somewhere else.

When you link the URL, there should be a highlighted part that appears after the URL link. Edit that to the text you want.

lol never mind I just did it accidently

Wow that would have been extremely scary yet kinda cool at the same time. Good to hear that no one was hurt. (well apart from the shooter. But who really cares about him...)

Mark, thats pretty intense! Glad you, and everyone else, were ok. Too much gun crime in the world, especially when by all accounts its ridiculously easy to purchase one over there.

I tell you what though, I was shot at once. Granted it was paintball, so probably not the same thing.

Cheers but in all honesty I felt quite safe. Unless you were in the library it was like a police state here.

20-30 cop cars, 2 SWAT teams, a tank and 2 Helicopters circling the campus with snipers. Pretty intense level of response, great to see.

Geez, what a crazy story. You we talking about it as if it happened everyday Mark!

Only other similar situation I can think of is when that nut rammed that plane into the IRS building here last year.

Like I said, I was inside and there was a small army outside. I felt safe

Here is the final story, he was a student here

A student disguised with a ski mask and armed with an AK-47 assault rifle terrorized the University of Texas at Austin campus Tuesday morning, firing five shots on campus before killing himself on the sixth floor of the main library, authorities said.

Police initially searched for a second suspect because witnesses gave differing descriptions of the man. But after searching the campus for a few hours, officials declared that the student had acted alone.

That's why I said scary yet cool :p The first few moments would be a bit frightening as you wouldn't know what's happening, but when the tank and heli came that would've been cool.

Its a nasty situation to be in. Definitely something not to be expected. When I was reading through it, the first thought that hit me was Virgina Tech all over again. I am glad no one has been hurt so far.

I am really don't support the gun policy. I mean the 2nd Amendment is outdated. I mean yes sure, people can argue about their personal safety, but it also gives allowance for nut jobs as well. Especially when situations like these occur.
