Out of curiosity, is it advised to work in an Industry if their work-force is on strike and you are non-union?

Depend on a million things. Are you working in lieu of the union workers? is your job a union job? Not sure how it works there but usually the white collar jobs work independently of the unions.

Working in lieu of the Union workers, in a job that is a union job.

gross. playing poker, playing a 4dollar rush tournament with a few hundred runners, top 36 got paid, top 4 all over 100 dollars (first got 349)

I'm at the final table, 9 left. 3rd out of 9 in chips. Pocket kings, I raise it up, guy in 4th shoves all in, as does one of the short stacks. Not worried about aces, the guy in 4th does a smaller raise, and the short has a pretty wide range, not deep enough stacks to consider passing kings anyway.

Guy in 4th has jacks, other guy ace queen. 200k chip pot current leader has 120k, so to take that pot would pretty much guarantee me top 3, and make me favourites to win. if the ace comes but the jack doesn't I still win chips, so really just an 80% chance of dodging the jack is all I worry about, but I run bad so it came, obviously.

Chip back up to 7th out of 8. Guy shoves qj, I call aces. 85% favourite to win, he wins the pot. I go 5th and knock him out if I hold up.

SO yeh, 45 dollars I got for 7th. If I could avoid losing 2 4 to 1 shouts back to back I'd have made a fair bit more.

I have no idea as towhat you just said. :p

basically I'm 85% to win with aces vs QJ. But I lose.

Kings vs jacks I'm 80% to win, but I lose.

If i win the latter there are 8 left. I have 200thousand chips. 2nd has 120 thousand. I'd consider myself one of, if not the best, players left out of the 8. so would be a strong favourite to finish 1st.

If I win the second I'd be back in with a chance of winning, but with a solid chance of top 3, for like 2-3 the amount of money I ended up winning. 1st was 7 x the amount I won...

Still it's a good sign, as getting it in ahead consistently shows I am doing well

Ah right unlucky. Whenever I play poker, there's not even a fraction of that kind of thinking :p.

I lost two big pots earlier in the tournament with aces too.

One guy turned his set after I checked the flop, he folds to a bet on the flop but it was not a nice flop at all, made a mistake there and was spectacularly punished.

then A guy shoves a j72 flop after I he called me pre-flop reraise. There was 1800 in the pot, he had ~3000 and I have about 13000.

I call, he has j10. obviously turn is an 8 and the river a 9 to give him a straight

Two bad beats but the first one entirely your own doing, slow playing Aces is just greed :p

can't do much about donkeys that catch the river though, they are here to stay

was a small mistake the first one.

He minned under the gun, I reraised. he flat calls.

Flop KQ10. Check check. If I bet I have to call if he shoves, too many outs for the redraw and I could be ahead. I bet the turn and have to call. if he has two pair I have 12 outs, i'm ahead of any pair/draw
