Assuming Australia is the top team at April 2005, who do u think will be the team for the Rest of the World XI for the 6 day Super Test and the ODI's?

So far for the Test team I have come up with:

S Fleming
M Vaughan
R Dravid
S Tendulkar
B Lara (c)
J Kallis
A Flintoff
B McCullum (wk)
C Vaas
Shoaib Akhtar
M Muralitharan

HOWEVER

If you were to say that Sangakkara was to be the wicket keeper, then I would put him up to 7, and bring Flintoff down to 8.
I do realise that Vaughan doesnt open the batting any more, but he could slot back in to that position easily. You might say that putting Flintoff down at eight is a bit low, but who would you take out? The only option would be Fleming, but Flintoff wouldnt open the batting, and the rest are middle order players.

What do you think?

That team is good EXCEPT for Shoaib Akhtar.I would put in Harmison or Pollock there.

Harmison for Shoaib and no change with Murali...of course he may not visit and hence you'll have to go with Kumble or Bhajji...perhaps Vettori....

i dont understand how you could pick Lara as the captain over Flemming?, or even Vaughan?

this is what i would put:

S Fleming (c)
H Gibbs
M Vaughan
S Tendulkar
B Lara
R Dravid
K Sangakarra (wk)
A Flintoff
S Pollock
S Harmison
M Muralitharan- if he'd come over, if not chuck in Vettori

lol CHUCK ;)

i think u got the team correct there radaga!! except i change gibbs for sure maybe sehwag to come in......

Here's my World XI

1. Sehwag
2. Fleming (c)
3. Lara (vc)
4. Tendulkar
5. Inzamam-ul Haq
6. Kallis
7. Sangakara (wk)
8. A. Flintoff
9. Muralitharan (Vettori)
10. C. Vaas
11. Harmison

Vaughan *
Trescothick
Tendulkar
Dravid
Thorpe
Flintoff
Sangakara +
Murali
Harmison
Shoaib Akhtar
Pollock

Take some beating, Pace spin and class batting!

Graeme Smith
Herchelle Gibbs
Jacques Kallis
Michael Vaughan (c)
Rahul Dravid
Kumar Sangakara (wk)
Andrew Flintoff
Chaminda Vaas
?
Steve Harmison
Muttiah Muralitharan

I am reluctant to put Shaun Pollock in because he hasn't been taken that many wickets, so i'm not sure for the 9th spot. Not Shoaib Akhtar because he is far too expensive and seems to get picked off fairly easily now. Any thought other than Pollock and Akhtar?

yer i 4got bout harmison. how could i????

i think Vettori would b next in line, Murali would b picked prob bcos of his record regardless of the fact he throws
