I was going to do a poll with this thread, but I don't know how to get the options for the poll up, but thanks in anyway M_Vaughan. Here it goes

Hi, this is the first time at me writing a story, well a cricket story. I will track the English cricket calendar over the summer, following Michael Vaughan?s men as they try and wrestle the ashes off the Aussies. We will be the first for interviews over the summer, and have one today, with the England skipper, Michael Vaughan.

Reporter: So Michael, what are your goals for this summer?

Michael Vaughan: Well, obviously we are looking to win the ashes this summer, that is our main target. We are a relatively new looking squad, so a summer together will set us up great for the future, and I have high hopes for the 2007 World Cup. But as I say, the ashes is the main target this summer, and if we can win that, we will be known as heroes in this land, and I?m just hoping that we can.

Reporter: On a personal level, how do you feel your form is going into this summer?

Michael Vaughan: I must think about the whole team really, but personally, I am not doing to badly. My batting is on the up, and hopefully the form will improve as we progress through the summer, but I must stress, this is about me and not the team.

Reporter: You said before that you were looking to win the Ashes, but you have to remember that you are facing the best side in the world?

Michael Vaughan: Yes, we know that more than anyone, and they will not have more respect for them from us. However, there is a small line between respect and admiration, and we will not let them walk all over us this summer. They may beat us, and they may not, but we will give them a run for there money, make no mistake about it.

Reporter: And that concludes the interview, cheers Michael, good luck.

Michael Vaughan: No problem, thanks.

In the next post, the action begins as England take on Bangladesh, so then, rise to the ashes, begins now!!!

Any feedback on this story is very welcome.

Well here we are, the first test of the summer, but it?s not against Australia, we will take part in a two test match against Bangladesh. The England side has been announced, and here it is:

Strauss
Vaughan
Thorpe
Pietersen
Trescothick
G.Jones
Flintoff
Giles
Hoggard
S.Jones
Harimson

Bangladesh?s form going into this match is patchy to say the latest, losing two out of their last three matches, against county opposition.

Well, here?s the first day?s play, from a very sunny The Oval. The conditions from the start of today?s play till the end of today?s play is for constant sunshine, so now, it?s from here to there, as we cross over to the stadium, for this morning?s play.

Well the England team are coming out, and that is because before we came on air, the toss was won by England, who decided to bowl first. The Bangladesh batsman (Ahmed and Omar) prepare for the start, Hoggard to bowl the first over, the summer begins here.

0.3 Hoggard runs in, it?s a bouncer, hits Ahmed in the chest. He goes to his knees. He looks as though he is okay to continue though 1/0

3.1 Harmison to Omar, pitches, skidded through, and he?s gone. Clean bowled. The ball has threatened to bounce unevenly during the course of the day, and it didn?t bounce at all there, and Harmison gets rid of Omar. 5/1
Omar B Harmison 2 (7)

5.1 Harmison to Saleh, edges it, but it?s safe. He edged it towards the third slip area, no one was there, and Saleh pickes up two. 8/1

9.7 Harmison steams in, goes for the bouncer, and it?s tonked for four by Ahmed. Fantastic stroke by Ahmed, Harmison look on in disbelief, he hooked it through the covers to pick up the boundary. 19/1

10.3 Hoggard to Ahmed, tossed up, Ahmed smashes it down the ground, oh it?s gone through Hoggard and to the boundary for four. Hoggard misfielded there, he should have stopped that one, but he let it slip through his fingers. 24/1

11.3 Harmison running in, good delivery, but Ahmed creams it past the fielders for four. This is good batting by Ahmed, and he looks to be on fine form after his blow to the body early in the morning. Ahmed knocks another one for four. 30/1

13.4 Jones into the attack now, bowls it, slower ball, AND HE?S GOT HIM. The slower ball did the trick, Saleh is going back to the pavilion, it was a great slower ball by Simon Jones, and Saleh walks. 33/2
Saleh B S.Jones 7 (20)

I will do exactly the same senario, England's summer Ashes series, but I will change the presentation, becuase doing them is quite dull to read, and difficult to kepp intrested in, I will do more screenies in my next one, and I hope you will still read, thanks guys.
