I am more of a metal fan.. Iron Maiden, Metallica, Linkin Park, Evanescence, etc..
Nirvana is awesome (if it is classified under rock).. The man who sold the world, smells like teen spirit, Lithium are super tracks !!
Coldplay has some great songs as well. Particularly like shiver, speed of sound, viva la vida.
Greenday, Blink182 are punk, and over a period of time get way too monotonous for my liking. Wake me up when September ends and American Idiot are my favs..
Not sure whether they are rock, but also liked
Oasis - wonderwall,
The Cranberries - Zombie,
Used to listen to RHCP, not anymore..
Linkin Park are pop. Very mainstream and whiney, first choice for pre-pubescent pre-teens.
Nirvana = Grunge
Coldplay and Oasis are also pop bands (good ones though)
Agreed that Greenday and Blink got old fast.
Good other than that!
I'm stuck in the 70's, anything later just doesnt interest me as much as it probably should.
Led Zeppelin, The Stooges, Pink Floyd, Sex Pistols, Clash, Stiff Little Fingers etc, are all up there in my regard.
From the 90's, I only like Nirvana and Alice in Chains, its just a shame Grunge didnt last longer.
I'm with you on this one, except there's more good 90's music than you think. Bands such as Pearl Jam, Phil Collins + Genesis, INXS, Anything by the Finns, Eric Clapton, The Foo, JBT, Lenny Kravitz, Offspring, Powderfinger, R.E.M and U2. (At least that's what I like from the 90's)
I like the heavier stuff. Nightprowler will kill me, but I think AC/DC are overrated. Honestly. No where near Hard Rock, atleast not what I've heard...
My Chemical Romance deserve a mention. Quite awesome. Good Charlotte too, and I'd classify Coldplay/Killers/Snow Patrol/The Fray as alternative rock.
Oh, and Linkin Park = Legendary.
Nightprowler won't be the only one killing you mate. You have the music taste of a pre-teen female.
AC/DC Have a heavy, almost gritty guitar sound, and Bon/Brian screams chestily, not whinges and whines like Gerard.
And lastly, Indie is not a genre of music, all it means is that particular band isn't signed by a record company, and they record their music themselves. The term 'Indie' is an abbreviation for independent. Just clearing that up for anyone who didn't already know.
Sorry if I've been a bit harsh, but I felt I needed to vent some steam.
