IPL Royal Challengers Bangalore | #PlayBold

This season would be very interesting as there would be a mega auctions. RCB Management has been great with their pre-auction strategies as they have roped in Ashish Nehra as their mentor (likely but no official news) who would also be very useful in guiding the young bowlers. The latest news also states that Gary Kirsten (very likely but not confirmed) has been roped in as the batting coach.

Since Gayle is the one match hero and wouldn't be playing every game, it's time to part ways and find someone more consistent. Virat, AB will be retained for sure. I would like to see KL Rahul as the third player to be retained. He has been consistent, in good form, and a better option as he is the local boy. Chahal on the other hand could be claimed by RTM. If the needs be, they can even claim Watson, who is scoring some runs in BBL.

Two RTM cards per team if they retain 3 players..

Players retained: Virat Kohli (INR 17 crore), AB de Villiers (INR 11 crore), Sarfaraz Khan (INR 1.75 crore)
Deduction from salary cap: INR 31 crore
Salary cap remaining for player auction: INR 49 crore
Right-to-match cards left at auction: 2

we waited 10 season without a cup... hope this season RCB will bring IPL gold to Bangaluru...
we had 3 batting power (Top national player, Top oversea player & promising uncapped player) it will be interesting to see how our rest of the team will form in...

Why RCB didn't retained Chahal ??

Sarfaraz was a shocker. I thought it's 4 players (RTM plus retain). Are you sure it's 5?

If it's 4, sarfaraz is bad move. If it's 5, it's good thinking by RCB. They can use RTM on Chahal and Rahul.

Team can retain Max 3 (any 3 national, 2 oversea, 2 uncapped) if they do, they get 2 rtm...

Sarfaraz is still too young and he is one of very promising talent (I rate him near Rishab Pant)... so 1.75 core might be gamble, but he very good with team and with captain Virat and also spend 2 years with RCB... It is worth of a gamble for RCB...
We have 2 RTM, we might see that go for Starc and for Chahal...

Starc has parted ways from RCB and very unlikely to go into the auction this season.

If RCB want to win this time, they would still have to bring that one thing that RCB lacked from all these years. A good Indian pacer.

We have to use RTM on Chahal and Rahul. No second thoughts about it. And as Sodium said, Starc parted ways with RCB before last season. So, we cannot RTM him.

I don't know why RCB went for both Grandhomme and Woakes. Surely they cannot play all the matches together or all the matches individually since we already have have 3 overseas players in playing XI. And they could've utilised those 6+ crs. by purchasing someone like Shami.

McCullum :os:
De Kock :os: :wkb:
Kohli :c:
De Villiers :os:
Manan Vohra
Sarfaraz Khan
Grandhomme/Woakes :os:
Chahal
Aniket Chaudhary
Umesh Yadav
Kulwant Khejroliya

Again, there is no space for Moeen Ali. And we can't let out any of the three - Baz, De Kock & De Villiers. Kulwant seems a promising young talent which Mumbai let out without properly utilising him. I have a strong feeling that he would be as good as Chahal when he plays alongside those veteran cricketers. Aniket was very poor in the last IPL and I haven't followed domestic circuit for a while now. Not sure if he is really the bowler we were looking for in this auction.

The attitude of Management "We don't have good bowlers but we have the top class batsmen to compensate" has backfired all these season. And there is no doubt it would be the same this season aswell.
