I don't know why RCB went for both Grandhomme and Woakes. Surely they cannot play all the matches together or all the matches individually since we already have have 3 overseas players in playing XI. And they could've utilised those 6+ crs. by purchasing someone like Shami.

Again, there is no space for Moeen Ali. And we can't let out any of the three - Baz, De Kock & De Villiers. Kulwant seems a promising young talent which Mumbai let out without properly utilising him. I have a strong feeling that he would be as good as Chahal when he plays alongside those veteran cricketers. Aniket was very poor in the last IPL and I haven't followed domestic circuit for a while now. Not sure if he is really the bowler we were looking for in this auction.

The attitude of Management "We don't have good bowlers but we have the top class batsmen to compensate" has backfired all these season. And there is no doubt it would be the same this season aswell.

TBH I'm very happy with how the auction went for us. We have got some good players and some backup players to the existing players. Though we have too much overseas players which I believe we won't be using all of them.

Last moment bidding on Parthiv clearly states that De Kock won't be getting all the games unless McCullum doesn't perform. That top order is just fantastic. I would play Mandeep instead of Sarfaraz when we are batting first and Sarfaraz when we are chasing. Though this is very unlikely, it would be the case if Virat wants to strengthen the middleorder. Options between Grandhomme and Woakes is very much wide and if the needs be, we can get Moeen Ali on spin friendly wickets. And most importantly, we have a good bowling unit consisting of Indian Players.

Altogether, a good auctions for us after a while.

Have to admit that RCB is the strongest team on paper amongst all.

Also people are under rating Moeen Ali's bowling. He can be very deadly with Chahal on spin-friendly tracks.
