The squad we have, there are endless possibilities to build a playing XI around the squad we have. There is only a three man core, that is Virat, AB and Yuzi.
I hope we get to build on more to the core- I'm interested to see how Padikkal plays, and I so wish he and Josh cement their places as openers in the squad for coming decade or so, just like how Kohli and AB did since 2011.
With respect to bowling, we should accommodate more overseas bowlers. That is success mantra of any IPL side.
I would back ourselves to play with the following XI in 2 - 3 games and see how it pans out:
Devdutt Padikkal
Parthiv Patel
Virat Kohli
Shivam Dube
AB de Villiers/Moeen Ali/Josh Philippe
Washington Sundar/Pawan Negi
Chris Morris
Isuru Udana
Umesh Yadaav
Dale Steyn
Yuzvendra Chahal
This creates a wonderful bowling attack, and with Kohli and one of AB de Villiers/Moeen Ali/Josh Philippe alongside Morris and Udana, batting isn't very weak either. On top of it, Devdutt Padikkal is just unknown. For all that we know, the probabilities are very high that he can emerge out as someone like (or rather better than) Manish Pandey and Virat Kohli.
