Salman butt rates aemar and asif best in the world

Both Asif and Aamer have got most of their wickets against No.1-6 batsmen. Steyn on the other hand has an equal share of batsmen and tail-enders.

Top order 1-3 - Middle order 4-7 - Tail 8-11
43.5% - 38.2% - 18.0% - Asif
52.0% - 40.0% - 8.0% - Aamer
30.3% - 34.6% - 35.1% - Steyn

So yeah I am dead serious.

So with this logic you rate Asif/Aamer as better bowlers than Steyn? Rubbish. The love for Aamer is all a bit over the top really (at this stage), he was brilliant in the two match series against australia but it was in perfect swing bowling conditions and the first series he has been able to average under 40.
Give him another two years before you put him in the same category as Steyn.

A combination of Steyn/Asif/Malinga (fully fit) would be a gun attack.

I think they are they are proving that they are best. That is good captain is satisfied with his players. If you look there last 3 test's performance they are really working hard

You know you cannot just rate these guys so highly after a couple of good matches technically speaking steyn and morkel have been the most consistent considering the fact that they have been bowling together for quite some time now and they have close to 30 matches under their belts together as a opening pair. Aamer has only played 10 test matches and if I recall I believe Aamer has only bowled 6 with Asif bowling.

This means that your making these guys the best opening pair in the world after 6 matches come on. Now this does mean that Asif and Aamer can improve but this can also mean they can get worse. It could go either way that's why I say its too early to say they are the best opening pair when we have not seen them together in that many matches. So its nice to take the safe route out in this argument, Morkel and Steyn the best in the world for right now at this moment.

Wow, someone stupider and worse at reading than TumTum.

No offence Tum :p

With Morkel, once has to question how well he would cope withot Steyn next to him. I think Aamer and Asif could spearhead a side on their own as of course can Steyn.

As a combo, i would just about take Aamer and Asif, Having said that Morkel's vicious bounce is something non of the other three can execute so well, so who knows..

However, in Umar Gul, I think Pakistan have an excellent first change, as good as any other third seam option around in my opinion.

If your talking about T20s yes Umar Gul is very good as a first change bowler however, not so much when your talking about Tests matches and ODIs

^I totally agree. Gul is still to find his feet in longest (and the best) version of the game. He is good when he pitches the bowl up but most of the times he is pitching it short of a good length as if he is trying to avoid getting driven.

To be really honest, Asif and Aamer have got lucky as they are`nt playing their home games at Lahore or Faisalabad:p They are good bowlers but I would wait for them to play some test cricket in the subcontinent. Asif has just played 6 tests in Asia, 3 of which were on really helpful tracks in his first series in Sri Lanka!! Yes helpful tracks in SL for some reason that season. Apart from that he has played most of his test cricket outside Asia.

Asif is sure to struggle on subcontinent pitches unless he can bowl 5-10 KPH quicker.

I dont see his speed a problem at all. He uses seam more then swing. If its a spinning wicket he will have no problems getting the ball to move all around.

Aamir is a future legend

do you think asif and aemar of the pakistani team are the best opening bowling pair in the world, i dont think so they can beat the combination of steyn and morne morkel, they both have more experience and they even go together well

no can say for sure that which couple is the best in today's test cricket but one thing is for sure that M Aamir is just too good for a youngster of age only 18. I would say he will be a future LR King may be better tha Wasim as he himself (Wasim)said that.

habib added 5 Minutes and 6 Seconds later...

Clearly Ishant Sharma and Abhimanyu Mithun are the best new ball pair in world cricket. :ninja

Are u kidding me? Or u are trying to make fun of Indian selectors?
:banana2
