Salman butt rates aemar and asif best in the world

stats are useless comparing these two.

steyn is bowling into a slip cordon with kallis and smith and de villiers at gully. asif and amir are bowling into a slip cordon that resembles a queue at an opticians.

oh yeah and the wicket keepers, boucher has the most test dismissals ever (I think) akmal couldn't catch a cold, evidenced by the fact his ever lasting fitness is the only reason he keeps getting back in the side,

Asif and Aamer have more potential combined, but Steyn and Morkel are the more lethal as of now. If the A's are able to develop all that talent then they will surpass Steyn and Morkel. Morne needs to still develop a lot. He is way to inconsistent. On our last tour to England he was average, but Steyn was very good. As we have seen, Asif and Aamer are bowling brilliantly, and that's despite the fact that Pakistan have fielded like 'carthorses'. So they certainly do have more potential IMO, but due to Steyn's impeccable record and skill, I give them the nod.

Stinky should write for the Guardian, the Spin in particular

haha, I wish man (I really do, cricket journalist is probably in my top 5 jobs, high fidelity style). Do you ever read Barney Ronay's bits?

this gem was in his column today

"Plus Pakistan provide two members of my world XI of uncooperative-sounding cricketers (so far Butt and How are opening the innings with Asif and Ishant taking the new ball)"

:laugh

in the words of Kenny Bania, "Thats gold!"

who does he write for? where can I read his column?

This made my day.

BKB1991 added 10 Minutes and 49 Seconds later...

If we get Younis and some stability into are batting order, then the series against South Africa will probably decide this thread.
