Story Scotland's World Cup 2007 (Cricket 07)

Runrate is not good at all, that Jaques is of no use , still continues his old poor form .

Not muuch luck for Scotland here, Australia going along nicely, Haddin playing suberb

Overs 26-40

The Aussies continue in much the same way until the 27th over. Shockingly, Haddin is clean bowled by Brown during his first over in the attack. Haddin tried to play a straight drive and the ball went right through the gate!

Haddin bowled!

A good innings come to an end.

The celebrations were short lived when Ricky Ponting arrived at the crease intending to attack the Scottish bowlers from the off.

Ponting on the attack.

He did not get much of a chance to form a solid partnership with Jaques however when the left hander misstimed a shot and was caught at mid off in the 31st over. Another wicket for Brown

A badly timed shot leads to an easy catch

New arrival Hussey didn't stick around long either, a fast ball by Brown struck him in the armpit and then took his bails off. He went for just 5.

Hussey was not as lucky as Haddin.

The new man on strike was Clarke and it did not take him long to stamp his authority on the match, hitting a big six early on in his innings.

Up, up and away!

So after 3 quick wickets the Australians will be looking to up the run rate considerably in their final 10 overs if they hope to achieve a significant total.

Great presentation, Dougie Brown is a legend and he shows it in this match, try and keep them under 250 and you'll have done great.

Brilliant bowling but Aussies do have wickets in hand. So its upto the bowlers to maintain strict line in last overs tol do the trick :) Nice presentation mate!

Thanks for the comments guys, looking to play the last ten overs soon. Bit worried about Ponting and Clarke is looking good too. If I can stop then getting 100 in the ten overs I will be happy.

175/3 off 40 aint bad... Hopefully Scotland can put up a decent total, even if they lose...

Just wait till you see what happens in the final 10. Updating shortly.

Final 10 overs

Things continue much the same until the 44th over when Ricky Ponting explodes against Majid Haq hitting not one, not two, but three consecutive sixes!

Three in a row for Ponting

These sixes bring up Ponting's half century

After this the two batsmen let rip upon the Scottish attack. Not wanting to be outdone by his skipper, Clarke hits a handful of fours to bring up his own 50.

A well earned 50 for Clarke

A fantastic partnership

Unfortunately, with all this big hitting someone was bound to get caught. In the 50th over, Clarke tries to go over the top and gets caught by Watson at long on.

Haq gets a wicket

However, the one person you do not want on strike with only 5 balls left is Adam Gilchrist. He proved this theory taking 13 runs including two sixes in a row!

gillyjq8.jpg

Gilchrist hits big!

So after their 50 overs Australia are 292/4 with half centuries from Haddin and Clarke, with Ponting narrowly missing out on his 100. Dissapointing from Hussey and Jaques with Gilchrist doing well to get the total he did.

Ponting's 3 sixes can clearly be seen in the 44th over

pontspidertc5.jpg

He was also the Aussies top scorer.

Brown was Scotland's top bowler with 3 wickets

292 will be a tough total for the Scots to chase and Australia will be trying their level best to stop them getting anywhere near it.

LOL, I know. Still did better than the real team though. :p (even though they got more wickets) Also Hussey did about as well as he did in the real thing so theres a plus ;)
