Bhuvi is not a slogger. Didn't you see his innings in the test matches in England. He batted like a solid top order batsman. The problem is, he can block out delivereis well and also score at a sedate clip by playing less to almost nil aerial shots. But he is not good enough to force the pacing whenever needed. Irfan can do that. Irfan can tonk big sixes as necessary. And also Bhuvi scored in that test series only. Subsequently, his batting again tapered off to tailender levels. Mohit looks a true tailender.

Wish Binny had more pace in him. His pace is truly too slow for him to be threatening. One advantage for him is that England conditions have proved successful for bowlers of his speed in the past and so he should be in the reckoning for the 2019 WC if he continues to knock the team's door till then.

^ The thing with Binny's pace is that his run-up is too long for his speed. Instead of his long run-up , he should try sprinting faster with a shorter one.
BTW , an in-form Irfan is far better than Bhuvi and Binny.
The amount of swing he got last IPL in some matches including a match vs MI was terrific and there's no doubt in his batting standard. The only issue with him has been the fitness issues which always had him lagging.

At the end of the day it is known to all that Irfan has more talent > Bhuvi, Binny and Mohit combined. Discussion over.

Wow, an Irfan Pathan fanboy. I dint know they still existed. Its nice :)

Bhuvi just don't have the ability to build up a innings he just comes in and always try to swing the bat without even building an innings first.

I am guessing you totally missed the England tour :)

And yet, he only had 4 wickets to show in 10 games. Against Bhuvi's 20 wickets in 14 games

Regarding batting, you guys seem to have this dream Pathan in your mind who can tonk sixes at will when in reality, his batting strike rate has rarely been crossing 100. We saw in last IPL how much he struggled to get the ball to the boundaries.

Pathan is not a mid-overs' or death bowler by any means with his pace and with Steyn , Ishant & Bhuvi in the team , it was obvious that he won't get to open the bowling but in that match against MI , he got to open the attack and got wickets with both new and old ball.
Regarding Batting , I agree that his batting has struggled in the last 2 or 3 years but for a lower order batsman , he is as dangerous as anyone given his day.

On the contrary, I think he would be better off building innings because he really struggles to get the ball to the fence.

ashwin bhuvi are much better bats than irfan, ashwin in that nz chase with jadeja looked pretty good in hitting department. bhuvi while not a slogger has more chance of building a partnership lower down if team is in trouble esp in t20 or rotating strike to the hitter at the other end, he can put bat on ball which would be more essential.

Irfan had potential but has not improved with both bat and ball.i still remember the old irfan against pak dont know whatever happened to that guy.

You can check his stats of the 2014/2015 Ranji season , everytime he had tried to build the innings or play defensively , he had failed.
On the contrary , in the match against UP , where he went on the attack notched up a quick 98.
It's not that he's gotten too old or wizened to hit the ball , he still has that ability of hitting the long ball given some confidence.

I havent followed his comeback to Ranji this season. But I remember very clearly from IPL2014, he used to do a very poor job as a lower order attacking batsman. Couldnt connect bat to ball while trying to look for boundaries. Always took too long to settle in and then never delivered even if he did settle in

Will check out his Ranji game highlights

Looking forward to this although I tend to lose interest during the end of the group games. I was a Sunrisers fan (because BT) but since he's not playing i'll probably be supporting KKR this season. Just absolutely love watching Narine bamboozle the batsman! :p

the less attention given to yograj the sooner he will get well :D sadly our gossip hungry media crooks wont let that happen.
