I don't like Uthappa tbh, same goes for Y Pathan. Have a feeling they will struggle at international level.

Uthappa has improved a lot. In the past also he did pretty well at international level in the limited opportunities he got. Seeing him bat in this IPL, I'm sure he will do good at the higher level as well. But, I agree with you on Yusuf Pathan.

I reckon Cheeka gonna send Tamil Nadu Ranji team with MS Dhoni in Indian Colors:sarcasm.

Pandey's in bad form. He's only 20. He needs some time. He's like Sehwag, aggressive, but a better player in the longer format. He also seems to be trying to slog a bit too much than play actual shots this IPL. He has massive potential, but we need to give him time to develop a bit.

Tbh, it should've been Uthappa. Vijay has not been as consistent. But, Vijay is one of my fav. domestic players, so I don't mind in all honesty. Vijay would've been my choice after Uthappa anyways.

Now...if only Chawla gets injured somehow...

Manish Pandey performed better than Vijay TBH!

Not in so called platform IPL, but in Ranji trophy 2009-10, Vijay Hazare Trophy 2010, Manish performed exceptionally well! Vijay even performed well, but not as much as Manish performed!

Last year, Rohit Sharma & RP Singh were picked into T20 side seeing their IPL performance!

I reckon I don't need to say what happened as all of us know how they failed.

For me, T20 side should be picked based on their 50 over and FC performances, not the T20 performances.

In recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy, Manish Pandey's scored 277 @ 39.57.

Murali Vijay, of course was in his national duties while Vijay Hazare Trophy went on.

I support Manish Pandey!
I even support Murali Vijay, but not the chances he is being given by Cheeka!

First of all, a Non Indian selector should be the chairman of selectors IMO!

And if you say IPL is the Basic platform to check out what capacity a player has, why din't the selectors give chance to Manish after last year's IPL?

Did you get what I meant? LL has explained well. Pandey still needs some time. We can trust Vijay as he technically sound and can be an aggressor.

A massive blow for India ESP @ T20 for mat where he can take the game away from the oppositions right from the 1st ball and ya a good chance for M Vijay. hope do well (Get a 100+ in T20 WC in WI) and get into national side

Pandey would've done much better in Hazare if he wasn't switched up and down all the time. He isn't an opener too, so he shouldn't have been picked for this tournament. I'm probably the biggest Manish Pandey fan myself, but he's not ready. He has massive temperament, just needs to develop a little maturity to play the shorter formats more consistently. He plays on a bowler-friendly wicket in domestic, unlike most other players, and if he continues his form, he'll be noticed.

Vijay/Uthappa would've been the right choice right now. I would've liked to see Uthappa more than Vijay. I don't like Uthappa(mainly cause he does nothing for Karnataka domestically but keeps his place in the line-up anyways), but what he's done in this IPL has been devastating. He's playing the fast and spin bowlers with ease, and he is an opener by trade.

Edit: And if you're looking at domestic cricket, Vijay has been performing for a few seasons now. Before the IPL was born, there was a domestic T20 tournament where Vijay was brilliant too(that tourney still goes on I think). This was Pandey's first complete season - he needs to probably have another good season or two now to establish himself as a prime contender.

Yes @ Uthappa why cant he be played he is far better than Vijay with the form @ he is he will be the 1st best pick , thats the reason why i hate BCCI wont give a chance to a guy who has been performing well
in each matches he has been playing ....... more over he is an opener who can fill the slot of Sehwag hope MR.SRIKANTH of CSK owner know it rather than backing your player back the best player :sarcasm

Vijay's selection is the best!!!

He is technically correct and better batsman then Pandey and Utthapa!!

Seeing Tendulkar who is not slogger of bowl but a technical batsman and still is the Highest RunScorer!!


Not to forget he still wins the side a match so.... Vijay can be very handy when India loses 2-3 early wickets he along with Dhoni or even Raina can get India a useful match winning partnership and they will work together well too!!!

So very good to see Vijay in side!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now Indian Team is complete after Sehwags loss!!!
