DO IT! Get the Mongoose, it's just a bat with a longer handle and shorter blade. If your hand eye is good, then it should be fine. I would only use it in limited overs cricket though. Let us know how it goes, if it's good or crap

Huh? The bat is the same length as a normal bat, only the face of the bat that's shorter.

But the handle's longer isn't it? So you get longer reach The middle of the bat is further away from the top of the handle (I think)

Anyway, I agree with everyone here. Unless you're looking to specialise in street cricket buy a real bat. Even if your not, it's way better to learn proper batting technique, and you can;t do that with a bat made for playing cross batted slogs.

It's not made for cross-batted slogs, it's mad to muscle yorkers and low fulltosses down the ground for six. It basically makes you a front foot slogger, as you can now convert normally hard to hit yorker/low fulltoss lengths into easy runs. But on the plus side, you will be hitting straight...

Mongoose changes the Center of Mass of Bat, which is most important while hitting!
So, if you wanna use it, use it, but stick with that.

Yeah. It has a short face to the bat, but a long handle, meaning it's not any shorter than a normal bat, but allows you to get faster bat speed and due to the thickness of the blade and the fact it's all middle more power into the ball.

Don't bother, I've played with one and realised it only has a slight advantage when slogging but quite a big disadvantage when trying not to slog.
It's OK, but not for the amount extra you have to pay and for any sort of normal cricket shot

Cricket is not slog all the way and slog is not cricket, if u can time the ball well it doesn't matter that u use the normal bat, besides nothin sweeter than a well executed cover drive with a normal heavy beast
