yes leg glance is ideal for odi's,but u wont get boundaries as most of my odi fields have fineleg or short fineleg.

I do like the patch though lol.........
I havn't being using your field's as don't know how to import them or what to use.....links and help would be apreciated.

Sid,
I inserted your 50 over pacing files for under 200 runs (cpu needed 196 to win), and they did it with 4 balls to spare and 4 wickets in hand. Nice job mate  .

Ultimate Patch (at least for me!)

Hey Sid, just dont have words to praise you man!!!! You deserve a big round of applause for your work on this patch! I am a big fan of Tutsi and boss but you have now stood up alongside them with patches for this new C2k5. Here is my small review. Hope it is useful for you to iron out flaws and hopefully can help you in improving your patch!

Positives:

1. Absolute realism in the game! I picked an India-Pakistan game on Hard level, Day/Night on a Normal wicket with Humid weather. India won the toss and elected to bat first! Tendulkar was run out for 1 in the first over due to a mix up with Sehwag. Sehwag then cover drove a boundary to end the first over at 5/1. I was happy with the way the CPU occasionally bowled balls on the off stump (2 out of 6 balls). The second over was like 2,3,1 (i.e. 2 balls on off stump, 3 on middle stump and 1 on leg stump).

2. The power boost shot has the risk element to it and if timed well goes to the boundary also! It doesnt favor the batsmen new to the crease. For example, Ganguly who is on nought, tried to loft the ball over mid on but found the fielder at mid on who was positioned just for that catch (again credit to you Sid for your field placings!).

3. Dravid played like Dravid and Sehwag like Sehwag. I tried the Sehwag method of batting with Dravid and thankfully survived. So decided to play the Dravid way with Dravid and it worked very well. With Sehwag, the balls when timed well went to the boundary and cleared the rope too once! The shots too looked absolutely real life like. Good timing makes the shot look even more better. Sehwag attempted a pull off Sami and how great the shot looked! The ball sped to the boundary!

4. India set a target of 211 for Pakistan to chase! Inserted your 200-250 pacing files... Surprise!!!! Afridi smashed a six and a four off the first over. Taufeeq Umar was subdued at the other end but got that occasional boundaries to keep the scoring rate over 4.5+ (sometimes over 5 runs per over!). Afridi kept scoring at more than run a ball and his shots looked absolutely Afridi like. Dont know whether this was co-incidental or not but Afridis shots carried more power whearas Umar's shots were more about timing! Agarkar finally breached the defences of Umar at 46/0 and man, I was jumping like mad!!! Both Umar and Afridi frustrated me a lot and I was visibly elated at getting Umar's wicket! Pakistan 46/1 off 10 overs and need 166 off 40 overs! A tough ask for India there and Pakistan look favorites to win it comprehensively!

Negatives:

Not much really!

1. The misfields is a frustrating problem! I am saying this just because I heard your patch solves it to an extent. But its still annoying. In one over, Khan kept it really tight for the first four balls without giving a run to Afridi. But the fifth ball was misfielded by Dravid and mid off giving Afridi a four and then Pathan misfielded at deep midwicket to give Afridi another four, taking it to 8 runs from that over. Just imagine being in my position there! Terribly frustrated!

2. I dont know if this problem is with your patch but, Agarkar bowled a ball on the leg stump and Umar tries a square drive shot (a cut shot also!) and the ball hits his thighs, but surprisingly the umpire gives it a wide! This happened two times so far for me!

3. The backfoot shots carry a bit more power than normal. Afridi hit three backfoot shots and all went to the boundary on once bounce! A bit less power would work better (may be reducing it by 0.2 or 0.3).

Will post more when I find it (either positives or negatives!). but one thing is sure, if you work on improving the patch, this patch can become an Ultimate Patch for Cricket 2005 and Tutsi and Boss would have the toughest of competitions from you!

wow, what an excelent review saisrini. i tried the patch yesterday, but havent enough time for it - maybe ia can check it tommorow - it sounds very good..

It is quite decent ya, I just find the leg glance alot easier.
But I prefer this patch to default or tutsi's

Some more review on ur patch Sid (as I continue that game against Pakistan!). Pakistan who were 46/1 after 10 overs are now 69/3 after 21 overs with a required run rate of nearly 5 an over!

I saved and reloaded the game after 46/1 (just for ur info!)

Afridi was out LBW to Agarkar. The ball was straight on off stump. Afridi (CPU) somehow thought that the ball was going outside the off stump and left the ball only to see the ball hit his pads and the umpire gave the LBW decision.

Inzamam was out LBW too but this time to Pathan and that too to an outswinger! Pathan pitched the ball well outside off stump and Inzamam left the ball but the ball swung back in to trap Inzamam plumb in front of his off stump! Two good wickets for India who came back into the game in good fashion!

Negative:

The CPU finds it damn hard to score off the spinners! Harbhajan Singh has bowled 5 overs for 5 maidens giving away no runs! Tendulkar has bowled 2 overs for 6 runs! The thing is, if you keep a leg stump line to the batsman, all he does he drives the ball to mid on where a fielder is positioned to pick the ball. This is happening with unerring accuracy! The CPU doesnt try anything different to score off those deliveries aimed at their leg stump. Even when I pitch on middle stump, they hit it to the same person. I have to bowl a really bad line (way outside off!) for the CPU to try getting a run! But thats not realism! In real life, they try something different to counter those tactics from the spinners.

Dont take this in the wrong way but I love this patch and want it to be tweaked for the better! Right now continuing the game and will keep you posted if more things need to be taken care of!

Good Review so it looks like from your detailed review that cpu needs to be made stronger against spin bowlers otherwise this patch is nice.

Also that freaking bug of the medium pacers bowling CPU out for scores of 1 and 2 should be tried to fix! I have bowled out Pakistan for 98 with Ganguly being the star bowler with 7/0

thanks saisrini

Ill look immediately into the spinner problem and hopefully soon solve it and release it in the beta version of my next patch(havent yet decided the name of version). As for the fielding bug,i spoke with colin some days earlier and he thinks that this bug cant be improved or removed by ai patching, but requires hexediting. The same case with the wide problem, cant be removed by ai editing.Keep the reviews coming, loving it.Also i would like a good review from anyone about how the pacing files are working,i mean all three of them and your thoughts on this idea of using different pacing files.Thanks.

I actually love the idea of using different pacing files for different totals for the CPU to chase! It surely makes the game challenging. See if all of them can be implemented into one patch. Or else, you can release it in seperate files as you've done now.

Square Cut needs to be fixed

whenever i play a sq. cut it goes towards mid-on
can u add a bit of power into late cut and guide to third man

hey CPU is giving big targets
a great patch man

try timing sq.cut properly,if i give more power to late cuts they will go for boundaries every time making the ai unrealistic.

Latest update-saw the point made by saisrini abt cpu being less agressive on spinners, working on it.

Meanwhile pl keep your comments coming.
