So this is my first session after getting out the Slammer. I'm seriously gonna shred. I knew this place inside-out way back when and some of the spots were still similar. Slappy's park had so many places to skate. My style is more street than vert, so I tend to stick to rails and stairs. Rob however, he's into the vert side of skating. Obviously, I hadn't seen him skate before but every skater has their own style and I was looking forward to seeing his. So with Slappy holding his camera and the golden morning light bouncing perfectly around the park, we were set to shred.

Sunrise.

Remember the stair-rail and ledge all the kids were skating when I met Slappy yesterday? I didn't get to nail it then. I'm doing it now. So I told Slappy and Rob to join me if they wanted but Rob felt like checking out the half-pipe. Think he was lining up something sick. I knew this kid had style, man. Anyway, so Slappy set-up the camera and he wanted to get a shot from behind me. He would be rolling behind me on a board and snapping shots as I did my thing. I measured another run-up and checked how the ledge to the side of the stairs would run. It was in great condition. It was waxed like a dream meaning my board would simply slide along it without any drama. It was a good height too, meaning I could get my flip in well before I needed to adjust my feet to land on the ledge in grind. I didn't get chance to nail that trick at the news building so I was gonna try the same thing here. A sort of, Varial Heelflip to FS Tail or something. I pushed off from my start and I heard Slappy's board follow me as soon as I did. After another push once again, like routine, I set my feet for this Varial Flip and about 2 feet from the ledge, I popped my feet. The board popped beautifully from underneath me and I saw my deck flip right underneath my eyes. As soon as I saw my griptape, I pushed my feet back down and spun my body into the slide. I was delicate with the board and as I suspected, it slided like a dream underneath me on the ledge. After sliding on the ledge I popped off the rail in an Ollie and spun my body round in 180 degrees. The shot's that Slappy got looked great. Could hardly believe how clean he made it look, I thought it was a bit sketchy.

Varial Heelflip to FS Tail.

"Dude, that looks sick! You ain't lost sh*t from being away from it, man."
"I'm stoked how that came out. Looks buttery as hell."
"So what you wanna hit-up next, dude?"
I looked around from where I was standing and found an incline that went down on the other side. It looked an ill spot. I could get super tech there. I didn't know what I could do but I had an idea. I was just about to ride over when Rob called out from the half-pipe.
"Dude! Get over here, this'll look sick if I hit it!"
Me and Slappy skated over to the half-pipe on the other side of the park and Rob was on the walk-way above the half-pipe.
"Man, what the f*ck?! You seriously ain't gonna drop in from there?!"
"F*ck yeah, dude! Tell me now that it won't look sick?"
"I trust you, man. What you got planned?" I looked over at Slappy and he shook his head and smiled over at me. Skaters always push themselves to the limit. Rob was right, this would be super gnarly if he pulled this off. He was full of confidence for one thing.
"I dunno yet, dude. Might flip and you see that raised vert lip?"
This was a huge vert kicker.
"Yeah, I see it"
"I'm thinking of riding down the half-pipe and handplanting the sh*t outta that thing."
"Dude, do it!"
This would look super sick. I was hoping he'd pull it off. Slappy set-up on the opposite side to where Rob would drop in. I ran up the walk-way and made my way over to Rob. We slapped palms and I told him this would look ill. He didn't hesitate dropping in. He rode to the very edge of the walkway and kicked his feet out and his board flipped into a perfect 360 Flip and he snapped his feet down on the grip just as his wheels touched the vert bowl.
"That was sick!" I blurted out without even thinking about it. Trust me, that walkway drop was huge. I'd never seen anyone stick it as hard as Rob just did. His speed was frightening as he powered up the other side of the vert. He rode up the half-pipe and as he did, he set himself for the handplant. He rode up the pipe and grabbed the lip of the vert with his right hand and reached out for his board with his left. His body was stretched out to it's maximum and he pulled the board back under his feet and rode back down the half-pipe. That's gonna look sick in the shots. Rob powerslided to a halt just outside the half-pipe's entrance and threw his arm's in the air as I snapped my fingers and cupped my mouth. I couldn't believe he stuck that.

Rob's ill 360 Flip to FS Handplant.

"Tell me you got that! Tell me you got that!" Rob was delighted, as he should have been. I ain't never seen anyone rip this half-pipe so hard. This kid got talent.
"Dude, I got it alright. That was ill dude, I think we got enough now. Culli, man. What you think?"
Even after seeing Rob's sick transition from air to lip, I was still staring at that incline. Not only that, but down the ramp from where it is, there's a raised box with a rail on it. I knew what I wanted to do. This would be tech as hell.
"Culli, dude! Over here, man"
"Nah, we ain't finished here yet."

Haha Robs got some sick moves. Sounds like a pro session so far. You'll probs ruin it by stacking what you wanna do next :p

haha great work mate kiu.

"super sick":D. Again, very well done with the screenshots and how it's all presented, very nice indeed.

Agreed with FB though, the way things have been built up, a movie storyline would see you on your arse after trying this next week.:p

Love this story, its epic, love the way you have set it out with slappy and rob and those moves are incredible!

It's criminal that more people haven't commented on this yet. I'm gonna get this soon so I can be involved as the worlds worst skater yet the most well-dressed.

Awesome stuff Stu. A different and unique story from most but you've really nailed it spot on. Look forward to some interesting storylines in future updates.

The game looks pretty awesome as well. Never played any of the Skate series before.

Aww cheers gorgeous :)

Thanks for comments everyone, updating tomorrow morning.

"Dude, what are you looking at?"
"That incline, man. Think that's a good spot?"
"That spot's sketchy as hell, dude. You sure you wanna hit it?"
"Man, I wanna get something tech. We've got street and vert. Let me come up with something, dude."
"Whatever you say, man. You always did wanna break out of normality, dude."
Perfect. The spot being sketchy would make it look even better when I nail it. We all rode over to this incline and checked it out. There's a platform that's just over from the rail I hit earlier so I could get a decent run-up for this tech trick I had in mind.
"Told you it was sketchy, man."
"Dude, that don't matter for sh*t. I'm gonna nail this. It's me, dude."
Slappy laughed and rolled his eyes, "So where you want me to set-up?"
The incline went up at the end of the platform and then down the other side I'd pick up speed to my big finale. That rail I mentioned earlier right, it's on a raised box. Meaning I can get sick air and hit that rail at speed. No matter what I hit on the rail, it'll look ill.
"Just set-up to the side of the incline. Get a nice wide shot of this. I'm looking to hit that rail over there too dude, all in one nice fluid line. Can you snap that from here, too?"
"Yeah, man. Whenever you're ready."

Element - Home of Tech.

Slappy set-up once again and Rob looked one just behind him. Now, I'm not known for my tech skating but it's all about being creative and knowing what to hit. I'm a pretty creative guy. Like I said, I used to look out and adapt spots with the old crew. Moving rails, benches etc., just to get that perfect spot. I was confident. I measured a shorter run-up because I needed to hit it clean and didn't want to land about half-way down the ramp on the other side. I needed enough speed to air to the rail on the funbox. So I pushed off and suddenly realised that my push was too hard. I was half-way up the ramp before I'd even had time to react to set my feet. The board's momentum carried it on and over the incline and was sent hurtling towards the rail, without me. I'd lost my footing and slid down the ramp on my knees and cut my arm when I reached flat ground and I'd landed on my elbow. Got a gnar gash, though.
"Dude, I got the flicks but, not sure it looks as sick as you'd hoped."
"F*ck you, Slappy," I laughed, "sarcastic ****".
I won't do that again.

----------------------------------

I know the mistake I made now. I need to push off much softer in order to get my hand down and my foot off the board to do the FS Boneless I had in mind. A boneless is basically an Ollie but you got a lot more height as your front foot is taken off the board and pushes against the ground to drive you into the air. You keep your back foot on the board and grab with your left hand in order to stay in control. It's a good trick to get over high rails or ledges. I pushed off from my starting point much softer than before. This run, I had plenty of time to adjust my feet this time around and got down low to grab the board with my left hand. My front foot came off the board and pushed down on the incline hard. It felt fluid and crisp. So much so, I even felt comfortable spinning into a 180 and I landed right on the blots flush as my front foot joined back onto the board. I landed the other side of the ramp and my body was perfectly balanced. Rob hit the nose of his board against the ground several times which is the mutually agreed way of showing acknowledgment. I was travelling at some speed now and my eyes were fixed on the rail that was coming up fast. I popped an Ollie as late as I could and moved my feet into the air so my board was at 45 degrees from the rail. I over judged it the angle though so I only managed to land a bit of the nose onto the rail. I'd managed to stick it though. I'd managed to slide on the nose and pop off before the end of the of the rail. The speed the whole grind went at was incredible to me. I simply cannot remember the last time I'd travelled so fast on 4 wheels, or at all. The flicks looked buttery. I was stoked.

FS Boneless 180 to FS Overcrooks.

I'll comment then.:p

I was right with my prediction initially but you turned it round for the second go.:D

Keep it up, good work.

This is top quality, Unlikely about failing miserably! Allow it!

"It's not like you to get tech as hell, dude. You feeling alright?" Slappy's sarcastic tone stung my ears but he was joking as always.
"Shut up, dude. Does it look good?"
"Yeah man, looks ill."
Rob came over to check the flicks, too. He seemed pretty stoked for me, having just seen my appreciation for his gnarly trick.
"Dude, we should film a 'sponser-me' tape..."
