Solve your computer problem with the help of experts!

fearsome tweak. I've lost my taskbar. My start menu icon is still there but my taskbar isn't. There's the little strip down the bottom of the screen but nothing on it and open windows don't show up on it so if I minimise a window, I have to go into task manager to open it back up. It's really irritating me. It happened when I tried to install an old flight game I found (RTS Pro 2002) and then tried to play it and it came up with some error message that wasn't English, I think, it changed my screen resolution I guess to play the game and removed the taskbar, I've changed back the screen resolution but the taskbar is still gone. Any advice?

Can someone respond to this?

I have two pairs of volume shortcut keys on the keyboard. Suddenly both have stopped working. The only way I can adjust the volume is through the system tray. Any help?

These shortcuts are very useful while playing a game.

Checked your drivers? Unplugged and replugged in the keyboard a number of times?

Probably a problem with the keyboard.

I use a laptop.
And I am pretty sure its a not a problem with the keyboard as all the keys except the two pairs of the volume buttons work. :)

Are the volume keys actually part of the keyboard though? Most laptops have volume keys that aren't actually connected to the keyboard. In which case it could be a driver thing.

One pair is above the keyboard, and the other one works as "Fn+Up/Down arrows"

oh I see what you mean by both stopped working. I thought that you meant both the increase and decrease volume buttons stopped working.

Not sure what the problem is there then. hmmmmmmm

Interestingly, Fn+right/left arrows are used to decrease/increase the brightness of the screen and they are working properly.

Then it would be to do with the way your computer is processing the change in volume commands

A guy on SevenForums recently told me that it is caused by a Windows update.

I feel its a driver issue. What company's laptop are you using? There are specific software which define the use of these keys. (Quick access or something like that)
