Soon On PlanetCricket...

idk, I might. I already have a few stories running around the place (my FM11 story in this section and a couple in the normal stories section as well as a joint one but that doesn't take too long to update.)

I might start writing up some updates and post them if I do decide to start it. I've also got senior high school coming up in a month so I'll probably have to focus more on studies but then again, it doesn't take that long.

And if I do start the story, what do you think? Do the tutorials as training, then maybe start a few short flights (using FSPassengers) while doing some of the easier missions (with the Cessna's so it pretty much goes with the pilots starting license) and then once I promote in rank, I'll do some of the tougher missions.

Actually, I also remember doing a mission which was pretty much going up with an instructor around Hawaii so that you could fly by yourself so I could do the tutorials and then that.

Anyway, I have enough options so I could do it.

yea it would be nice to read a story that focused more on an individual pilot. I don't get to go into much detail in mine cause of so many pilots.

and yea that's a great idea to coincide the FSX missions with FSpassengers ranks.

You should check out those flight sim download websites, there are lots of cool addons for engine fire effects and smoke trails and what not.

Ok then. I'll have a look.

The only problem is that the missions don't count to FSPassengers. Actually, I thought of an idea. When doing the missions, I'm not actually flying as part of the company so it wouldn't go towards my rank.

Anyway, finished my first update. I'll probably finish all the training for myself before I actually post it.

I'll need to decide on a company to fly for as I'll have to make one up. Any options you can think of?

just make Quantas Airlina with a massive budget, you can get all sorts of paint jobs for different airline companies. I have one where I made American Airlines and bought all AA jets

Well doesn't Qantas really only have jets anyway? And since I have to use Single Prop Engines, that means that I can't really use a jet so early anyway.

I've found a bunch of Quantas paints for the Beechcraft and smaller ones. I'm sure you'll figure something out. You do know you can transfer pilots right? so maybe start at a small regional company and then get transferred to a major airline

or make one up :P

How about a private charter company that flies the Aussie and Kiwi teams around to their matches.

ah, legendary. Great idea. I'll edit the passengers names once i start flying around to the sports players names :p

Name: The ANZ Sporting Flight Company

haha, that's the best I can think of. I can take players on private trips in the Cessna, with a couple of players and then start taking around the whole teams once I can get some bigger aircraft.

btw, what would a realistic failure setting be when flying? (What to set the failures as) Do you reckon 15%?

Yea cause most are easy failures, flaps failing or gas leak etc.

I'm thinking of resurrecting the PlanetCricket Basketball Team that nightprowler10 had created a couple of years ago with NBA 2K11.

The basic premise would be that you'd sign up for the PC basketball team as a player and replace the worst team in the NBA (probably the Sacramento Kings). The team would then compete in the NBA and attempt to win the championship (probably a 29-game season).

An alternate approach would be to have a custom league with 8 or so teams and then do a fantasy draft for real players. Each of these managers could then do things like make trades, change starting line-ups, etc. Not as much fun, imo.

I was wondering if anyone was actually interested before investigating how much work this would take. The cool thing with 2K11 is that the graphics are amazing and there's ways to upload photos and videos, so there'd be plenty of media.

That option sounds a whole lot better than the second one. Just as the second types of ones don't really end up working, the losing team managers don't post and you would have to find people with the knowledge of the game.

I'd be in to be a player but I would be wary of the people who just sign up for the sake of signing up to something.

Having media is the key to stories I think, if you manage to post highlight clips and videos of cool plays then it will be a great story.

I also agree with Ollie in that a league will loose it's novelty quickly, with just one team you'll be able to go into depth (storywise) and participation will be higher. you can always "cut" the players who are not participating. etc

That NBA game is graphically amazing and you have a beast computer, so that alone will make it very interesting to follow.

My only other suggestion would be to have the "season" be a very small amount of games, like10-15 so that you can play multiple seasons. The in between season trades and what not will make it much more exciting than having one mammoth season which never ends.

and maybe have 4 PC players and 1 pro at all time? would be cool to see Kobe in there with other PC memebets

Some good ideas in there. Yeah, I think the one-team option would also be better. Distributing the activity and all that. I could probably take a star or two from the team that we'd be replacing--problem is DeMarcus Cousins and Tyreke Evans are not really globally known. :D I'll look into it further, though!

We could always bring a star in through a trade or something.

Only problem with the shortened season is that I'd have to manually handle the season and simulate it on a game-by-game basis, in that case. NBA 2K11's shortest season is 29 games (play each of the other teams once).

I'll do some more testing out when I have a chance and see what I can come up with. But looks like the PC team option is the one that people will like.

I'd be really interested in that story. I've never really followed basketball that closely but I've got a few of the games so I do like it.
