Hello everyone,

Well here we go, the nominations.

1. Aditya's India's Journey To World Cup 2011
2. Australia's Journey In International Cricket By Hedger
3. Greens' Journey In Cricket By Gorro
4. A Journey Down Under By Chewie

Reminder on How this is going to be evaluated.

1) Voting in poll just counts 50%.
2) Remaining 50% is calculated based on evaluation from panel members which would be,

a) Commitment as a writer ( Points out of 10 ) - This also includes the writers' attitude of taking the readers' comment and improving accordingly.
b) Quality of a story ( points out of 10 ) - This also includes the writers' tendency to take the story in long runs with consistency.
c) Presentation and Other Innovative stuffs ( Points out of 10 ) - Not only the graphics part, but the way writer presents the story to the readers.
d) Story Line ( points out of 20 ) - Bottom line of every story.

So Panel members, be ready. Please PM me the evaluation of stories within 15th of this month. If stories from panel members are present in the list, corresponding panel member can skip the self evaluation.

Out of the four stories nominated, the only one I have ever read is Aditya's. So my vote goes to Mr. Aditya.

Even I did not expect that! All I am doing is executing the story but whatever reputation my story has got, is because of all my story readers. Thanks to all my voters Surprised to see Mad's vote there as he had not post even a single comment in my thread! All I can say is, a BIG thanks to everyone.

I can find nothing in the rules that states a story must run for more than a quarter to be nominated for SOTQ. It appears to me to state that stories that 'miss out' from 'automatic' nomination can be nominated by members.

brendon/callum/chewie's Worcestershire story (as if there was any doubt to which story I was referring) has been updated copiously in the relevant quarter. It is fairly unique for its level of co-ordination among three authors. And it has a limited life-span - even if it is continued, it is only likely to continue to the end of the 2010 domestic season, which is more than half over. So there is no other quarter that it could more appropriately nominate for (even hypothetically).

I don't know how to quote from another thread, so I have cut and pasted a relevant section of Surendar's rules below.

Surendar wrote in 'Story Forum Index':
"New Fairplay System in SOTM :

1) The top three who makes to pole position ( 1 - 2 - 3 ) would be awarded 5, 3 and 1 point(s) respectively.
2) The points will get carried to next month too. This inturn means - No criteria in not getting nominated if you win one SOTM. The same story can be nominated in next month's poll provided, it stays active with same top efforts/consistency.

What does fairplay points do?

It gets carried forward to the next month & form a base for the nomination of Story Of The Quarter. Yes, We would be having SOTQ as well i.e. every 3 months.

How does SOTQ works?

1) The top 3 stories from the fairplay points would be nominated for SOTQ poll + the story that wins the playoff poll.

2) The idea here would be to put up a poll for the first few days of the voting week with all the stories in SOTM over the last three months other than the top 3, and the winner would also go in to the overall poll, so if a good story just misses out on making it into the top 3, members could nominate it in. This poll duration would be for three days - Mon, Tue, Wed."

To be honest I didn't think anyone would vote for mine since it was active for 2 months at the start of the voting period before I started getting lots of work.
