Sportsbook - Requests and Comments

I really missing out the point here. I don't see anything unpolite about my request. I am simply asking if some Euro 2008 matches can be placed. Just like I asked earlier if some friendly matches could be placed.

And to add to that, I practically placed all the information, that is needed in my posts (about the timings of the friendlies and the betting odds of Euro 2008), so there has to be no searching to be done. I spend 15-20 minutes with searching and typing that post. How much more polite can I be?

Anyway, I see some friendly matches has been made with the betting odds I provided, so thanks for that.

Can you please post up these friendlies... here are the odds and games... cheers.

Something like that might go down a bit better.

I've spoken with Sean and he agrees. We aren't doing any more requests for the moment. Any events posted are at the discretion of the vBookie team member. All we ask are for manners. They don't cost anything

Woo! 6,999 posts. :) (From Sean)

The attitude you two are showing are also not right :noway

WORLD CHAMPIONS added 1 Minutes and 0 Seconds later...

It's getting ridiculous.

From now on, posts like "Post the IPL!" or "I want the Champions Cup!" will not be tolerated, and we will not fulfill your requests.

Dont worry, NO IPL anymore this season :p Next Year again :)

lol. its going to be my sign for a week.

@other people
You gotta understand that Tom , Sean , Pal & other Vbookie staff post events for us to enjoy. They dont get anything out of it . If you be polite to them , it wot do any harm to you.

Good joke buddy:p

It was an example. Do you expect us to be super nice? *In my online posh accent* "Oh could you please stop doing that. You're hurting our feelings." :crying

It's only going to go across as a joke, so we must lay down the law.

I think it would be worthwhile to come up with a simple standardized system for requests, something like:

League:
Event (Home/Away):
Odds (Home/Away):

It would allow us to create the events in a matter of seconds.

And also a link to where you got the odds. If you could please post the fraction, it would be appreciated.

These friendlies are already over by now.

And I wrote in this post the Euro 2008 bettings directly towards the link itself, where the odds can easily be seen: http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1105972&postcount=359 How much more directly can it be? And seeing that some match has been placed according to these odds, it seems it has helped.

For the information here is the direct link again for the Euro 2008 match betting, for the tournament bettings and the group betting: http://www.willhill.com/iibs/EN/allsportsandcoupons.asp?sport=FB

This discussion is going nowhere. The Vbookie staff is supposed to make events, and they are supposed to research the events and the odds, and are supposed to create events.

This thread is just to help them out in knowing which event they need to create and many times users give the odds as well. There is no question of the staff refusing to work because some of the requests were blunt.
Imo, staff should be proactive and should be creating events on its own rather than when prompted to do so by the users.

We are doing FC, and its quite efficient. Generally people don't need to prompt us to create an event, and if the need is, there is a thread, and we appreciate whatever the people say.
The same holds true while scoring the matches. We try to score as soon as the match is over. It is a long and tedious process, yet, we try not to postpone it, and rarely have people needed to remind us to score (yes, there have been instances, but quite few)

Lets work in the spirit of working and try to enjoy ourselves while working :)

Cheers!!

But FC is a lot easier then vBookie. You just do International cricket matches. We have to a) Do many different types of sports and b) Actually reserach each indivdual event to get the best odds.

All we ask is for a bit of politeness, and it does wind me up when you say that, when FC to be blunt, is a hell of a lot easier to run than vBookie.

We should swap roles :p

I agree that ppl need to prefix or suffix a 'please',but I think now you can expect them to do so.

About FC,we only do cricket, thats true, but the creation and the update of a game takes almost 10-15 min. Scoring is faster once you get the hang of it.

Well Tom,I accept your challenge nevertheless :p
