Spot Fixing Scandal Thread: The Legend Continues

I forgot I was a member of PakPassion (a pakistani cricket forum) and received this on my email:
Dear PP Members and Passionate Pakistani fans:

The events of the past few hours have left us all in a state of shock.

It wasn?t long ago that we were celebrating the rebirth of Pakistani cricket but today we find us lamenting its death !

Let us clarify that Mr. Majeed was a representative for the said players who allowed us access to interview these players. There is NO other connection with him or his organization as far as PP is concerned ? our only mission was to bring the voice of the players to the fans and also take feedback to the players.

Hopefully this has made our position clear and should end all speculation and rumors on PP.

Let us all monitor the situation and hope and pray that Pakistani cricket can recover from this jolt.

Regards

So I decided to check their site and apparently Mr. Majeed's cousin is a member of that forum and has been lobbying and praising Salman Butt's captaincy for a while now. And so called Mr. Majeed's cousin posted this pic:

Here is another post he made a while ago:

Using these companies would have meant the shirt being available in all major high street stores within days and a massive online presence. For some reason the pcb did not take into account the vast amounts of money they would have made from using an experienced sports retailer but this is the pcb! The reason I know this is because my cousin mazhar majeed was dealing with the pcb and presented them with these offers.

I reckon even PCB might be involved.

Do you understand the concept of bail? :facepalm

the bail "without charge" kind of confused me! From what I read they can't keep him for more than 24 hours?

I just hope all this is resolved soon, unlike the match fixing cases in the past..

Just wondering about the video footage where Majeed tells the NOTW man that when Aamir and Asif will ball no balls, what proof can NOTW provide that these videos were recorded before the match took place ?

Second thing about the photograph where Majeed, Butt and the NOTW reporter is standing, you might want to have a closer look Pakistan Team Match Fixing

Those are just thoughts anyways, let's see further revelations in the coming days.If the currency notes match with the one given by the NOTW guy, then it's curtains for Aamir, Butt, Asif and those involved.

It's perhaps time for the ICC to act and show it's power, so is the time for PCB to get their house in order.

This incident further strengthens Younis's return which has been ridiculously delayed for reasons which are becoming clearer now.

For those calling ban of Pakistan into test cricket just because of a bunch of cheats:-

Dream on :sarcasm

I've seen certian posts saying that when 4-6 players are involved in fixing, why to revoke the test status.

For all of them, who think in this way:
See in past, many silly things have been committed by not only players, even the Cricket Board. And PCB tried to ban those guys, but unfortunately, PCB changed the total meaning of the terms "life ban." And now, with clear proof, the latest scam has come out. So, ICC should take all these things into consideration and revoke the test status.
"test Status" is for the cricketing bodies, who (at least) know what actually means "Life Ban". Even many players in that board are utter cheats. Assuming ICC has banned only those 5-7 players, who are involved in this scam, PCB will have bunch of new players, with which, they will be a weakest of all test playing nations. And as those set of youngsters would be playing some high profile tournaments, they will be attracted to money and commit the same mistakes, what these cheats have done. So, I feel its better, if PCB gets its test status revoked.

In other news, Broad is officially above Kamran Akmal in the Test Batsmen rankings :laugh

^I bet Broad can be a better keeper than Akmal if he puts on the gloves. Hell any one with two hands can keep better than that lowlife rodent .
Coming back to the topic I am a little disappointed by calls to strip Pakistan of its test staus :noway. What ICC should do is give some time limit to PCB to sort out all the matters relating to these allegations, lets say an year or so. If ICC is not satisfied by PCB's work after that period, they should then do the needful whatever that may be. If Pakistan are not allowed to play test straightaway, it will be a loss to world cricket as this sport in Pakistan may never take roots again.

Oh my bad:facepalm. Why to distract him from bowling?
Even I'll keep better than Kamran Akmal:p:D.

Not only you, even I feel hard to say that. But unfortunately, PCB's actions on so called "life ban" have to be taken into consideration.

Before even touching ne of the players, i think d PCB management shuld be thoroughly investigated n suspended until any conclusion reached.
There is absolutely no way an 18 year old would have the balls to pull this off without witnessing d seniors n even officials involved in dirty dealings. there is no one to look upto in d whole pakistani team rite now, how d hell are new comers ever going to respect their seniors and the spirit of game.
