Spot Fixing Scandal Thread: The Legend Continues

Although I have no trust on Pakistani players but this news still supecious to me becuase why this bookmaker gave interview this channel? Each time Pakistan went to England there is some rumors, some time related to match fixing and other time ball tempering. Let's be fair each time these allegation proved wrong. Considering that bookmaker was very happy with it's deals then why he claim it openly, there is no criminal who claim that I did this crime. On the other hand if it proved to be a true news then whole Pakistan cricket must be ban for at least 5 years + life ban to all direct participants.

He didn't give the interview. He was secretly filmed by an undercover news agent who wanted in on the match-fixing thing. As soon as the match fixer gained trust in the undercover agent, he started revealing stuff. That's what I think happened.

I have followed Pakistan cricket as closely as Indian cricket and I have been jealous of some of the bowling talent they produce. I used to be in awe of Pakistan sides of the 90s because of their sheer ability to turn games on its head from nowhere. However, since the dawn of the 2000s, I saw the Indian team changing gradually and Paksitan cricket being embroiled in scandal after scandal. First , it was the 2003 WC when the players were said to be fighting during the practice sessions. Players were sacked immediately after the 2003 WC disaster.

Guys like shoaib who were repeatedly involved in controversy after controversy continued to be picked. Asif who got caught in doping scandals twice still continues to play. What sort of example does it set to a newcomer like Aamer? When the seniors have got away with offences multiple times, why would he not try and go down the wrong path. The whole system of Paksitan cricket is a shambles.

I hope that a man of integrity like Imran Khan or Wasim Akram takes over and sorts the emss out once for all. And no, two month bans which get overturned in a week won`t do any good . I`m utterly depressed by what is going on with Pak cricket and can only sympathize with their fans. Each time they seem to be turning a corner, they commit acts of stupidity. I wonder how much of this has got to do with lack of education.

Then why Mr.Majid has been arrested today? while the person in green track suit was arrested last night?
Scotland must arrest Majid before arresting anyone.

I'm imagining the dance number Bollywood will do for this scene.

I just saw this on the news. The hidden video footage of Majeed saying to bet on a no ball at overs 2.1 and 9.6. Didn't see Asif's, but Amir's was a good half a metre over and that's just sad to see. The fact the the players would go along with something like this is just unacceptable. Ban anyone involved imo.

Bahaha I had a good chuckle over that post, appreciate it haha. :p

So uh...Amir better ton up or something, how amazing would that be? (EDIT: Just realised I wasn't in the tour thread)

According to Cricinfo, the test is still going to continue, can't see it lasting too long but...

What are the odds of Salman Butt just declaring the innings to escape from the crowd? :laugh

I want to know where all the people are that were crucifying Suraj Randiv for bowling that no ball to deny Sehwag a ton...

I kind of got a shock when I saw Aamer's name up there with the other match fixers. MA is so talented and so teeming with youth and jubilance that it's hard to believe he's a dirty figure as well. I guess it bears testimony to the atmosphere which pervades Pakistani cricket. What a disgrace these cricketers are to the entire cricketing fraternity! Do feel sorry for all the Pakistani fans. Their country is probably going through the worst phase in its history.

He has been arrested. This isn't just a newspaper making things up. This has been an in-depth undercover operation by the paper; all the footage of Majid was secretly filmed.

Really sad to see considering how talented the two bowlers in question are. Asif could have gone down as one of greats, instead he cheats and match fixes. Amir, I'm really hoping was a case of being under the influence of bad people.

Imagine how you would feel if you were one of the 4 players not involved at all who had been trying their hardest to win the series for the country, then found that the other 7 had done this.

:facepalm

Exactly who was taken away by police from the Pakistan hotel? Someone, who I thought looked like Kamran Akmal (pure speculation on my part) was definitley taken away by the police and was desperately trying to not be seen on camera. They were also wearing a Pakistan cricket tracksuit so it was someone affiliated with the team.

Yet the joint statement says that no player or Pakistan official has been arrested.
