Spot Fixing Scandal Thread: The Legend Continues

Ajmal, Farhat, Ali and Hameed are clear at the moment. As are Gul and Haider. Possibly MoYo as well.

If the Pak team remains intact after this, expect a return for one of Afridi or Younis as skipper.

Interesting thought...the possibility of Bob Woolmer being murdered after the loss to Ireland is alive again.

I knew about Match-fixing- Shahid Afridi

Afridi states that he knew about match fixing thats why he retired. He mentioned this to the management & PCB who took no action. He said 7 players are involved. If he came public before people would have ridiculed him as he had no proof. Plus it made no sense to blame more than half team for match fixing & have no proof in return.

It was on a Pak news channel ARY

Backstabbing and the lame excuses begin.

Majeed revealed he was plotting for Pakistan to lose TWO of the One Day Internationals | News Of The World

He explained many players want Test skipper Salman Butt to remain captain for all matches, but the Pakistanis have drafted in veteran Shahid Afridi to lead the side for the one day internationals and Twenty20 matches. Majeed said: "A lot of the boys want to f*** up Afridi because he's trying to f*** up things for them.

"They all want Butt to be captain. They want to lose anyway.

Anyone else gaining a lot of respect for Shahid Afridi from this?

Never thought I'd say it but yes. He certainly looks like he had nothing to do with the fixing whatsoever and was completely against it.

The likes of Afridi, Younis Khan, Saeed Ajmal and possibly Umar Gul are few of the players in Pakistan team that would not sell out.
However I'm not that sure about Gul, he bowls a LOT of no balls. They should check his bank account.

Can't trust the rest. Especially the Akmals, they look like goons anyway.

The thing with Gul is, it has been well documented at how he has had a problem with no-balls throughout his whole career. This could obviously lead to him being 'touted' for no-balls from Majeed as it seems less obvious but it's not like his problem with no-balls has only just come through.

Yeah, I just think Gul can't keep his foot behind the line; not because of spot fixing.

I know what you're saying, but after all this it's hard to trust any Pakistani Cricketer. I can only hope he wasn't involved.

The match fixing may be even wider. Read this from the cricinfo article:

'The same website (PakPassion) also revealed that Mazhar (the matchfixer) was in Australia during Pakistan's tour at the start of this year. Pakistan lost every single international through the series; an inquiry in the aftermath of the fractious tour revealed that coaches Aaqib Javed and Intikhab Alam suspected Kamran Akmal of deliberately underperforming. Allegations centred, in particular, around the second Test in Sydney, which Pakistan lost from a dominant position by 36 runs.
