Spot Fixing Scandal Thread: The Legend Continues

I don't want to go out and say they have definitely done everything they've been accused of but the evidence from my point of view in relation to the no balls is most definitely compelling.

I can understand our point being `not guilty unless proven`. However, had this been any other side in world cricket, the sentiments may not have been as strong on just some allegations being thrown at them. Its just the track record of this side which makes everything look so very possible and the allegations look very very credible indeed. Not that I`ve already declared them guilty, to be really honest, I`d be very relieved if the allegations are proven totally wrong. Its not just a Pakistan cricket controversy anymore, its something world cricket cannot afford and I can imagine many cricket fans across the world would be very very angry at this.

I disagree. This would be a bombshell regardless of the teams implemented and their previous track record.

Many people are already talking of bans and disciplinatry measures with just the start of the controversy and a few allegations being thrown around. That has a lot to do with the past track record, in my opinion. Had this been any other side, people would`ve waited for an official verdict or at least more conclusive evidence before calling for bans or displaying such strong emotions.

No they wouldn't. Had any member of the England team been found to be implicit in such an activity I'd be calling for a life ban for them as well.

I don't see how much more conclusive you can get the evidence either in relation to the spot fixing. The no balls were delivered just as they were organised and were massive no balls; they weren't even close.

They won't be proven guilty until after a long investigation.

For the bare bones go to the first post in this thread and there are links to all the relevant sources.

So Can someone summarize and tell are they PROVEN guilty or not?

Regardless of length of investigation it will be hard to explain how 3 balls that were promised as "no balls" were no balls and by some margin.
My worry is that the very arrogance of assuming they wouldn't be caught suggests that this is the tip of a very large iceberg.

I don't really know how the players who have been identified can now go and play in the OD series, in my opinion they should be given temporary suspensions until proven otherwise. At the very least Butt, Amir and Asif should be given ones, as they have even been identified by Yawar Saweed.

It's very easy to call it prediction when the video was revealed some time after the event. There's a lot in this story with no guarantee of how much is truthful.

So how do we know that the promise was really made before the match?

Sorry but i am not getting what happened

When the NOTW went to find him out, they handed over a lump sum as a deposit for the information from him, it's in one of the videos from the News of the World.

So the notw mag people in disguise asked for help in betting and that cheat provide the information of the 3 no-balls and eventually the no-balls came true?

Yes. The idea it could have happened after the event would only be possible if the man in the video wasn't quite so obviously Mazhar Majeed.
