It's not about the game, it's about the people who bet gaining a lot of money from certain passages of play. They also state that they didn't want to lose Salman Butt as captain, so they didn't do things that would affect the result of the game.

I`m all for the revoking of test status as well. Test cricket is not for cheats.

Send2yaari watch the video. These aren't things the paper are claiming without evidence; they have video evidence of the fix being arranged and the arrangement occurred on the pitch.

What do you think the cricketing community would gain from banning or isolating Pakistan without reason. The problem with Pakistan cricket has been not rooting out the evils when they could have done it previously. Offenders have got away with repeated incidents of cheating, doping and what not that they are setting wrong examples for even the new generation of cricketers. Asif may be a genuinely talented cricketer but there is no way he should`ve been tolerated after repeated doping offences (twice). He would`nt be playing international cricket had he been in any other country. Same with many others like Afridi, Malik, Akhtar and co.

The mess has to be cleaned up and hence the outcry of the cricketing fraternity. Everyone wants a strong Pakistan side. Cricket cannot afford to lose any team since it`ll only end up poorer as a result but that does not mean we go easy on these offenders repeatedly.

I know that we`re all feeling a bit cheated at the end of this saga. I`ve been talking about this to my dad since the news broke out and there clearly seems to be a problem in Pakistan cricket with the youngsters not having good role models to follow. Inzy is the last man of real credibility I can think of. Younis seemed like one too and there could be a strong chance that he was isolated because of that.

Take the case of Indian cricket which was facing an all-time low at the start of the 2000s when the match fixing scandal broke out. India found a strong leader in Ganguly who played hard, built a team and by the end of the decade India reached the top of the rankings. He had a really great bunch of talented yet genuinely honest cricketers in Kumble,Sachin,Srinath,Dravid,VVS and co who carried the team through the troubled times and set examples for the newer breed to follow.

SA found a similar leaders in Pollock and Smith. Pakistan, however have not only had troubles with finding a stable leader but also have had to resort to cheats like Afridi as captain. They need some strong personality who could fix all the mess and build a side free of scumbags. The Pakistani fans deserve a honest side at least, if not a world beating one.

Test cricket is sacred. We cannot allow players to think they can get away with this ████ and still play test cricket. Lets allow Pakistan to continue playing ODIs and T20s(something they love playing) and be banned from Test cricket till they get this mess sorted out. Thats the only way they`ll be forced to sort this fast and also deter others from doing something like this. Otherwise, I`m afraid, this ████ will happen again as it has in the past.

Afridi is actually one of those who have come out of the scandal thus far as being completely clean. The people accused were heard to be extremely annoyed that he'd been made captain instead of Butt as he wouldn't throw proposed ODI matches.
