And of course, Cummins goes for a duck against SL.

Seriously! The Australian side of 2003 was the best of all time and believe it or not, Ganguly`s India of 2003 WC thrashed most sides in that World Cup .

You say getting all out on 129 right in the first match and winning against few weak opponents make you strong enough to win WC ? We had an inexperienced Zaheer Khan, an injury prone Javagal Srinath while Nehra was inconsistent as ever and spinners like Kumble and Harbhajan were always going to be ineffective on those bouncy pitches of South Africa. Remember we were whitewashed in New Zealand just a month before that WC and they did trouble us in the WC as well but we were lucky enough to win that match. Pakistan thrashed us all over the park but again the cameo from Sachin and Sehwag kept us in the match. We were never good at performing in pressure situation. What seperated other teams from Australia in that phase was the quality of team management which Australia was so good at in that period. I am not saying that any side can turn up at a random WC to win it but if you look to dominate teams you are bound to win more often than losing that is what Australia was so good at. Winning WC was never the sole objective for Australia but dominance was. The current lot of players in Australia have started to take things for granted and have continued to think winning WC is not a tough job but what they forgot is that they don't have that quality anymore. I am very sure they won't think of the WC until the time they would be playing in it and even after losing it they won't be critical about their performances if they go on to win the Ashes.

Anyways coming back to the series. Australia are now actually started to make the use of their home conditions. A pleasing victory for them. That's a huge confidence booster for them and they've shown that they don't have to rely on Smith and Warner to win matches are their bowling alone is capable for running through the opposition line-up !!!! Innings and 40 runs is sheer dominance :clap:clap:clap

So who else did predict that Sri Lanka wouldn't even look half competitive in this series ? The Lankans were blown away just within 8 days of Cricket. I thought Sri Lanka was an improved side coming to Australia with the way the performed in New Zealand in the 1st Test but in this series apart from dismissing the top order of Australia in the 1st innings of 2nd Test they had nothing to boast about !!!
