Wasn't this tour going to be the one where England were going to play more warmups? I guess 2 FC games isn't bad for a tour these days, but I was kinda expecting more. And then 7 ODIs, yawn... 5 should be the max ICC please. Although from a viewer point of view it'll seem like we are getting less ODIs since Sri Lanka plays 3 very early in the summer and there'll only be the 7 England games in the 'meat' of the summer compared to 2 x 5 game series that we've had the last 2 years. That means less competition for the Big Bash I guess :sarcasm

England's potential squad. I think like back in 98/99, England may have to take a 17-man squad to REALLY cover all bases.

1. Strauss
2. Cook
3. Trott
4. KP
5. Collingwood
6. Bell
7. Prior
8. Swann
9. Broad
10. Anderson
11. Finn

12. Morgan
13. G Jones/Kieswetter
14. Onions
15. Bresnan
16. Sidebottom/Tremlett/Shazad
17. Key

That team looks great provided Strauss uses his part timers. I feel he always underbowls Colly and KP. Also please give Colly a slip !

Well its been over 20 years since England were competitive in Australia, they have been just abysmal here for so long, not just losing but being slaughtered unmercifully. so its going to take some crazy effort to even be competitve going by history. They were always more competitive in England even when we won in 93 and 97. Cant say i'll be all that sad if we lose though, I'm not feeling that connection with the players like I used to when I was younger, maybe its because of the 'tool nature' of some of them, plus i'm still getting over Gilly retiring!!!! I'm always happy to see Punter and Hussey do well, just LOVE Punter's batting, I think i'll take up Chess when he retires, no reason to watch when Clarke becomes captain.
