Sri Lankan players attacked in Pakistan?!

He is right, Cork was one of the biggest supporters of Pakistan before this.

shocking stuff, hope they are all alright.

You mean the SL players? Then it's really unfortunate and disappointing, no they are not alright. Seven of them have been injured in this attack. With Samarewara's condition being the most critical.

^^ now that makes more sense

if you havnt noticed none of the other thread closes after the end of each series ...
Yes, but few tours end on such a volatile note. The thread for the Champions Trophy in Pakistan ended very sourly. It's pretty easy to reopen and restick a thread, but right now, there's no need for discussion to continue. This just ensures that things don't get messy.

Well cricinfo says Samaraweera and Paravitarana were the worst injured and are doing fine now so they should be alright.

Just got to say RIP to those who died.

Wheres zMario when you ACTUALLY need him? Man, we can all go quoting his posts now!

Lucky the rocket missed the bus, otherwise the bus would of been blown to pieces. And no Sri Lankan player has been shot. Just shrapnel wounds luckily.

Spot on mate.

I'm sure he might be thinking what to post as all of his posts were trying to defend pakistan and its a big failure now.Really eager to see his reply to this,he's surely gonna say that those terrorists were LTTE one's or from India.

Who cares about what he says? He will defend Pakistan even if they declare war against the whole world.

Think this justify's England's decision to avoid travelling to Pakistan. Dominic Cork claims doesn't think there'll be cricket there for decades, and he was one of the few Westerners defending Pakistan. Real shame to see things like this happen, premeditated attacks on a cricket team. It's a shame for the Pakistan Cricket Team, as it doesn't seem like they'll get much cricket for a while, but Sri Lanka should never have gone there in the first place. Sad day for cricket. RIP those that have died.

Also, regarding the terrorists, the guys on Sky News believe they are from a similar group that orchastrated the Mumbai attacks, and with the Taliban already controlling 1/5th of Pakistan, and one of the leaders of the country saying that he believes that the Taliban will run the country eventually, it doesn't seem like things are going to improve. Can't see Pakistan getting any home cricket for a long, long time.

Violence is not limited to Pakistan and as was the case last year, something that might be caused by Pakistani militants can be a bigger event for another country. Just as countries all over the world reach out to help with natural disasters, the countries of the subcontinent must consider this to be one problem shared by all. Violence in one country is the enemy of the region.

Well the westners declined to play in pakistan, and what they have done is right.
PS: Some ex-players asked Indian Squad to come and play in pakistan because terrorism has no connection with game, lol but thank god we escaped.

Poor lad who scored a double century.

I'm just thinking, if this happens to the S.Lankan's-had the Indians gone there..........oh god I can't imagine.

Well now here're zmario and his team..who said that Pakistan was safe........where's that Zahid Ali..Still I hope that the players recover

Just heard from BBC that the two players who were more badly hurt were Samaraweera and Tharanga Paravitarana were most hurt but they are all going to be ok.

Hope they throw the book at Pakistani cricket and ban them for as long as it takes until they sort out the country. The next step is for Pakistan to accept they need outside help and get in some forces to help take out the Taliban.

RIP those who died.
