Okay. End of a day where Lancs won the toss on a medium green pitch. I'd say Nick Browne did a great job.

All glory to Nick Browne...

It took this many balls for Adam Wheater to catch him...

But then in the over before lunch it happened...

Might need to up the anty to make a 500 ball ton. Words I don’t think any one has ever muttered before.... 85 balls that’s at least a strike rate close to 70-80!

Jokes aside, your commitment is incredible, how on earth do you do it?!

I’m sure it’ll delight you to know (if indeed you didn’t already) that this fifty took precisely two minutes longer than the slowest ever real first-class hundred. Top work.

On a dry hard wicket, SA were very much cruising towards their target of 297 despite a few middle-over hiccups. Pollock came to the crease when 80 were required with 4 wickets remaining, so he simply kept rotating the strike. However, with Rhodes getting run out, he was left with the likes of Donald, de Villiers, and Adams. Fortunately for SA, Pollock took complete responsibility for scoring the remaining runs while simultaneously ensuring that the other batsmen did not have to face too many deliveries, especially from the spinners Murali and de Silva. Ultimately, he took 45 of the last 50 required runs that included two huge sixes over cover/extra cover off de Silva. In the end, SA reached their target with 4 overs and 1 wicket to spare.

Loved how things went according to the plan during the last few overs of my innings. I’ve been enjoying these ODIs with 90s ODI rules for powerplays, no-balls, bouncers, and reviews and different legend AI settings for pacers (timing 60, wicket chance 40) and spinners (timing 70, wicket chance 30) for dry hard wickets.SA 90s vs SL 90s thriller.jpg Almost fully takes away the default advantage of bowling spinners.SA 90s Partnerships.jpg

Spinners are just overpowered in this game for some reason. Grassy pitches offer more to them than a seamer with that lower bounce in LO games. :lol

It’s the summer of 2008, the Proteas are in town and they face a new look England side. The sides will contest a T20I, 3 ODIs and 3 Test matches for the Basil D’Oliveira Trophy.

Match reports and scorecards to follow, but for now, let’s meet the sides!
