After watching Shewag’s 195 against the Aussies in 2003 and listening to you guys I have been inspired me to dust off the game and give it another crack and replay the Australia v India tour of 2003/04

Very pleased with how the game played. Boundaries at a premium against a superb attack and a great run rate. Excellent shot select from the AI for the most part.

Ultimately the class of Warne and McGrath proving too much as usual and putting Australia on top but it took a ripper from Warne to remove a set Dravid.

Question for you lads who are playing regularly, have the AI ever gone Big BIG.. and scored many centuries. I remember when testing throughout the beta etc the AI would always get to 80 off for me then get out!

Had Geoff Marsh put 168 on me in my last test. That was big enough. Pretty sure @blockerdave has just had an AI double ton put on him

Love that.. out of curiosity as I feel like after hours and hours of testing I have forgotten what does what and what the best settings are what do you guys have as your settings?

Wicket chance and all that jazz!

This is how I'm set up for physics and AI for Test Matches atm

Great to know! I enjoyed what I just played. I’m determined to chip away through a series.

What’s ur AI settings out of interest? And do you use teams that you have skilled specifically?

I will make a vid of my current settings and share in a bit. Yeah I am VERY particular about my skills/settings and I think my “system”’generally comes out most players a bit lower than others but it’s pretty consistent for both my players and the AI. Typically your substandard international players (think the 90s journeymen of England have overalls mid 40s to mid 50s; international journeymen mid 50s to high 60s; good international players into the 70s and world class into the 80s. I know this is lower than most have but it works for me.

I get good matches, win some and lose some; realistic results, scores, run rates and dismissals. I’ve noticed good variety of dismissals and I’ve seen the conditions affect this. Spin is overpowered and I’ve not yet resolved that issue though I’ve started giving AI some of the spin and footwork perks and I think this helps.

I’ve bundled the AI out for not many and had them post 400+; I’ve had the tail wag and I’ve blitzed them; I’ve been skittled myself and I’ve scored well.

Since I started playing the “England in the 90s” I’ve had every dismissal except a stumping, I’m deep into my 28th match and I’ve played 6 test match opponents (just South Africa and Zimbabwe of 90s test sides to face). That’s not something you do if the game is shite. I think this game is superb.

My biggest advice to anyone is find some reasonable settings and stick to them - play varied opponents in varied settings, you’ll see everything. People mess around with settings because one match/innings/session isn’t to their liking and then blame the game.
