Stylish Batsmen

Kim Barrnet, Niel Fairbrother and Gary Kirsten, all players who placed the ball brilliantly into the gaps be it from chips over the top or ones and space.

I wouldn't put Hayden, Gilchrist, Pietersen, etc in the 'stylish' bracket.

Although they all have excellent and sometimes unique technique they dont come across as stylish to me.

A stylish batsmen would be someone who isn't the most powerful but has exquisite timing and is pleasing on the eye.

Vaughan circa. 02/03 would be the best example in recent times, in my opinion.

I dont know, im hard work but i class stylishness as two things, the best to watch and the most effective.

The best batsmen to watch when batting (on form) is either Adam Gilchrist OR Yousuf...both are very attractive and get it done.

The most effectively stylish batsmen is by far Andrew Flintoff, ok im being a bit nationality friendly, but seriously he has it all, along with him goes Lara, Ponting and to some extent Sangakkara :D

According to me Mark Waugh was also very stylish batsman :)

John Crawley :p in his younger days.

Someone who is not in contention for this: Paul Collingwood :p

Many would laugh but he was, and still is, an effectively brilliant stroke maker!

Sanga, Lara, Punter, M.Clarke, Bell, Dravid, Kallis

I have seen Crawley bat for Hampshire and i agree he is a brilliant stroke maker

I would disagree. There are many batsmen who are far more stylish to watch, when on form. Also, claiming that they "get it done" seems to go against what I think stylish would be--which is more about looking good than getting it done. ;)

Dravid has a perfect technique but I don't find him so pleasing to the eye. Laxman is definitely a very beautiful strokemaker. Ponting is more in the efficiency category, in my opinion. He plays with a lot of power, not so much grace. Sachin Tendulkar is quite a stylish player himself. I believe his trademark drives are second to none.

Ganguly is pretty impressive through the offside. India used to boast having the best strokemakers in their line-up a few years back. Probably not so much today, having players like Dhoni. :p
