Random question: If a sub takes a catch, does it count towards their caught statistic on their profile? Dunno why I want to know, just kinda thought about it and am curious now.

I would think not,how could a player sitting in the dressing room get a stat added to him just for the fact that his sub got a catch?

Well done sid, you've managed to give him a question he cannot answer!

Interesting, As the laws of cricket states

3. Restrictions on the role of substitutes
A substitute shall not be allowed to bat or bowl nor to act as
wicket-keeper or as captain on the field of play.

Its probably something thats been kept lenient in case the fielding side is in a desperate situation where nobody can keep for them.

More likely the law has been updated since the match Andrew is talking about. I cant see a situation where you can have fielders on the pitch that cant act as wicketkeepers to be honest. They may be rubbish wicketkeepers but that doesnt really count does it.
