Suggestions for next Bas Cricket game

With customisation options we don't really need much licences but it would nice if we got some more international teams and legends.

Would also love them to bring back historic teams.

What if you had different protective equipment and the more you wore reduced your mobility but decreased your chance of an injury from taking hits to the body.

There should definitely be some sort of consequence for being hit by the ball. I've had Starc smack into my ribs at 95mph and I've walked away from it like nothing happened.

Same when you bowl and the AI miss and it hits them. Would be so satisfying peppering a lower order batsman with short stuff

I'd like to see an injury system that is connected more explicitly to gameplay. One that encourages a more realistic approach to the game by presenting consequences to the actions you take.

A dive from the batsman might carry a 1% chance of injury.

Too many hits to the body/torso can result in an injury that reduces your mobility and your strength, e.g. a broken rib. If I'm having to fend off or attack aggressive bowling then it forces me to approach the game in a more realistic manner. There's a bit more pressure to play shots or evade rather than just take it.

If I run too many quick singles, bowl too many effort balls, I run the risk of a leg injury that significantly reduces your mobility.

If I get hit on the hand maybe it your reduces your strength or timing.

You get two hits to the head before you are offered the chance to retire hurt. A third and you're pulled out. Hell, I'd even take a mini-game that acts as a concussion test.

If you get injured, you are presented with the option to retire hurt. You can play on, but with significant reduction in whatever specific area would be impacted by the injury. E.g. leg could be 50% reduction to speed. Torso 25% speed, 25% strength. If you continue, after the game - there's 50/50 chance that the period of injury is doubled. Risk and consequences. At the moment I know there's an injury system but I don't even think about it.

Of course I'd like all of this information - the progression or risk of injury - to be available. Maybe an outline of a body - split into legs, torso, arms, head. Green zones, yellow zones and red zones for high risk. If you hit the red zone you could recover by not running so many singles, taking the bowler off for a long break or laying off the effort balls.

I just want cricket ball in the groin animations and cutscenes for batsmen getting hit.

This is cricket not a survival simulator , How often do we see injuries happen during match? Probably 1 in 20 match.

The only thing which can be a part of gameplay is stamina management for both batsmen and bowler.

Chill on the passive aggressive tone mate.

Whatever he posted will work best in a fighting game like WWE or open world games like GTA , even though I appreciate his thoughts but they are hardly related to a cricket game in general.

Injuries are part of any sport and what he said wasn't out of proportion to that. Seems to me like you've just got a superiority complex going on with your tone.

Injuries are part of cricket. If they are going to be a system in the game I'd rather have it be a system that I should engage with and care about and at least have some control over. What better way to do that than make it relevant to gameplay?

Why does stamina management take precedence? At the moment I can sprint singles without consequences, making spectacular dives without consequence, bowl players for over after over without consequence.

I wouldn't want to have to check this after every over or every ball but be aware of the fact that running batsman into the ground will have a cost.

I think it is limiting to see this as just another sports game. The time investment is not like a match of Fifa. Yes, cricket is a sport but why should the systems in the game not take influence from other genres? Even if they are small? Before this game came out I wanted to see things like perks or boosts because I'd seen them in other games, like Doom. I'd like to see more defined skill trees, because I've seen them in games like Dishonored and particularly Prey.

A fitness and injury system that requires you to not only think about what you do but potentially change your play style is far more interesting to me than just running and diving because I, unrealistically, can keep doing this.

Career mode or Ashes Mode are massive time investments, I think just having bowling and batting be the only gameplay systems to think about can become mundane. It could be a system that you only have to care about in certain game modes (such as career, Ashes, tours, competitions).

I appreciate your thoughts and some what agree with your wishful thinking but please be realistic , cricket games will never have such big budget to implement these things so it will be better if they focus on getting the core things right rather investing in complex injury system.

I don't think it's unrealistic to ask for more or suggest improvements to systems that are already in the game. Currently I see the stamina and injury systems as offering little added value to the game. Being able to basically hold down the sprint button and use the dive button without thinking twice are negatives in my view. I'm suggesting ways to try and solve these issues.

Nor am I asking for a complex injury system.

Broken finger - for the hand
Hamstring tear, Calf tear - for the legs
Broken rib - for the torso
Concussion - for the head

I'm not asking for each body part to have every possible injury and individual hit registry like you'd see in a shooter.

To be able to bring up something like this (or something that hasn't been made using photoshop in a minute) during a match; I can see my batsman has taken hits to the body, hits to the hand and is in the 'red zone' due to excessive spamming on the sprint button. Thus the risk increased of a leg injury if I continue to do so. I can ease off where they can recover somewhat, or continue knowing that I will increase the chance of injury or, as a mild consequence, see their running speed or stamina reduced for subsequent matches.

This is a suggestions thread I don't really care if it's wishful thinking, unrealistic or not. I'll leave that decision about if it's a good idea and if it's possible or not to the people who are making the game.
