Misbah is almost 36, this is why Pakistan cricket is going backwards. Because their selectors think like some of their fans...

Please no Imran Nazir, Shoaib Akhtar, Ahmed Shehzad and Kamran Akmal in the Test or ODI lineup. Anyone but these guys! and Youns Khan in Tests only please, how many times must he fail in the ODIs for people to understand the guy can't play that format even though he has a fairly good technique.

We have to look for the future and should have replacements for Mohd. Yousuf and Younis Khan after the world cup.... they can probably stick around for Tests but ODI will be beyond them after the WC 2011.

Apart from Umar Akmal I don't really see any one for the middle order... gone are the days when Younis, Inzi and MoYo used to bat for Pak and negate the fu*k ups by the openers....
Thankfully the bowlers will be able to carry off the good work done by the Ws... the two Mohds.. definately look a great future and once Gul comes back in form they are deadly.....

and Afridi just went from an inspirational leader to a no.0.... I wish that Imran Khan leaves politics and start running PCB. If the team starts doing well it will give much relief to the people as well.....

The guy is almost a complete mess and is nothing like he used to be which was the likeable toe-crushing pace bowler who charged in with incredible energy and was a delight to watch when on song.

Abdul Razzaq should also be included in the Odi team, when he comes back from the injury.

His big hitting skills can be useful at no.7 and plus he's a great bowler.

Younis Khan is only 32, averages 50.10 in Tests. Mohammad Yousuf averages 53.08 in Tests, he wasn't outstanding against the aussies but how many batsmen do Pakistan have who average 50+, how many have averaged 35+ in 75% of their last 12 series?!?

I can completely get on board with dropping Younis for ODIs, a nothing special average, but Yousuf averages over 40 in ODIs, has loadsa experience and there are plenty of other players who've done less that could be dropped first.

I'll say this, Younis and Yousuf cannot be captain for them to play well. If you look at Younis and Yousuf when they aren't captain they play extremely well because they only focus on batting and not captaining. Right now they are seriously out of form however, I think in the tests form of the game you need at least Yousuf.

I think you need Afridi as captain because he is the only player on the team who plays for the win. He is a very aggressive player when he is captain and the team is very aggressive as well. Look at game 5, for Pakistan that was there best game of the series, great fielding and terrific bowling. With Afridi, Pakistan is at its best and I don't know anyone else who is more fit to take the captain role.
