still no Brett Lee mate ;) a green top in prospect at newlands.

Cant afford to drop anyone, everyone's performed very well. Things may change very quickly though after this game.

Australia v World XI, Super Challenge 2004 - 3rd ODI at Cape Town

15 overs: Australians are in a spot of bother as World XI captured 6 wickets after putting them in on a green pitch and overcast conditions. Vaas the hero for World XI, justifying his inclusion and wrecking the Aussie top order in a sensational spell of swing bowling. At the end of 15 overs Australia are 82 for 6. Still a healthy run rate but a lot depends on Martyn who has looked in good touch even on a difficult wicket.

Chaminda!!!
Aussies under some pressure here, but knowing their calibre they're bound to pull through...

Harmison was instrumental in finishing off the inning but not before a fightback from the Aussies. Martyn and Harvey added 52 for the 7th wicket. Getting worried about progress of this partnership, Fleming brought Kumble in the attack and the move soon paid off. Kumble who took some good catches in slips early on got one to turn in sharply from out side leg, Martyn tried to play across the line was beaten by the turn and bowled for a well made 52. He played some fine shots while rest of the top order struggled on this pitch. Kumble struck again in the same over dismissing his leg spin counterpart for a duck as Warne lobbed an easy catch back to the bowler. Harvey continued his good form in super challenge added some useful runs, a big 6 over long on off Kumble one of the highlights of his inning. Harmison was soon back in action and backed by an attacking field removed Gillespie and McGrath. Harvery remained not out on 44 as Australia were bowled out for 164 in the 32nd over.

So World XI need 165 to win under very different conditions from the last game. Bowlers are getting some assistance on this wicket after batsmen dominated first two high scoring games. But judging by the way this series has gone so far, it would be a surprise if this one ends in a one sided victory. (thoguh project result is a 7 wicket victory to Wold XI .:p )

Very well bowled S, its a tough ask to bowl out World XI under 164 runs I think. I will give it a go and lets see how my bowlers will fare on this pitch.

McGrath strikes early  , Flintoff lbw playing to a seaming ball outside the offstump which came in sharply off the very first ball. Fleming edges to Gilchrist off the 3rd ball from McGrath to set up a very interesting game ahead. The score now reads 3/2 after 1 over

Tendulkar spoiling the party for Australia just took 18 runs off one McGrath over:mad: McGrath and Gillispie bowled superbly so far but for the 10th over when Tendulkar hit 4 fours off one McGrath over:( Score now reads 36/2 after 9 overs with Tendulkar on 26*(26 balls) and Kaiils on 5*(28 balls). Both Tendulkar and Kallis were beaten consistently although they didnt look like throwing their wickets away. Now what Australia needs is just one big wicket of Tendulkar. Australia look forward to getting him soon and not later.

McGrath had bowled 4 overs for 11 runs and 2 wickets but gave away 18 runs off his 5th over. Gillispie has bowled really well with his figures reading 4-1-9-0. Australia now missing the 3rd seamer, hopefully Harvey will do the job:rolleyes:

Gilly gets Kallis off the first ball of the 10th over:cool: This ball is seen to be beleived, the ball pitched slightly outside leg stump and quite rightly Kallis attempted a leg glance. To his dismay and for the ecstatic Aussies ball seamed and bounced to hit the middle and off. This has to be the ball of the match.

Harvey strikes:cool: , Lara edges one to the lone slip and is out for 12. The score now reads 61/4 after 13 overs. The game now is well and truly on. If Australia can get Tendulkar out somehow (he has hit couple of fours since the last update:( ) they may think they are right on path towards an excellent victory. Am I speaking too soon?

Tendulkar reaches 50 off only 39 balls with 10 fours

Bugger:mad: :( , Dravid just dropped at mid on off McGrath. Feel like smashing the bloody monitor.

World XI reaches 100/4 off only 17 overs and Tendulkar 63 off 56 balls in that total.:(
