Story Super Challenge 2004

5 overs: MAtch is underway and we have seen plenty of action already. World XI raced to 36 but McGrath provided the breakthrough removing Flintoff lbw with a cleverly disguised slow ball.

sorry for the delay Ravi..

25 overs: World XI lost their way after a brisk start managed to reach 98 for 4 after 25 overs. Sachin was out in the very next over after the last update. Shoaib played another cameo at no 3 but unfortunately for World XI none of their top order batsmen went on the make big score. Fleming and Lara haven't looked in touch on this wicket, so far all the top order have struggled against Harvey' swing and the spinners. Can they make a recovery in the second half.

Ravi, PC's state of the art score predicting system (i.e. Autoplay :D ) has predicted a disappointing 178 all out in 42 overs. Hope your bowling doesn't make it come true :p
good luck.

Not a problem S, there was no delay. We are not going to finish off in a day these games are we? We can take our time to complete this series.

I think the score may prove to be just with the kind of batting to come although I expected you to have scored anywhere between 125-150. It is good that the patch is good enough to make batting not too easy. As ever Dravid is good enough for a big score and from what I have seen Lara plays brilliantly most of the times. Its going to be an interesting 25 overs.

BTW, thanks for that excellent bowling changes you are a wily captain for a bowling team.

S, I noticed the changes made to tighten the straight drives are causing few issues to the CPU. I sorted that out but unfortunately have had to drop difficulty level by a notch to get it right. I wanted to make sure you are happy with this and you may even consider batting again now that the difficulty level has been dropped a bit. It would have made good enough difference to you batting efforts against the swing and spin bowlers. I am wondering do you want to me to continue from now on or do you want to rebat the 25 overs and then I can continue. If you do not wish to bat again I could change back the values to the ones when you batted and can bat after the 25 overs. Its your call mate.

Right away and sorry about that lapse mate.

Super Challenge 2004, Match 2: World XI v Australia at The Oval
World XI made a solid start but Australians have kept themselves in the game by picking crucial wickets. At the 25 overs stage World XI have raced to 158 but also lost 5 wickets.
Flintoff was out early caught by McGrath at long off. Fleming was positive right from the start and added 40 for the 2nd wicket. Gillespie struck for Australia as Fleming played across the line and was bowled. Shoaib Akhtar promoted to no 4 did hit some quick runs. Highlight of his inning was a big six over long on off Gillespie. But Gillespie got his revenge removing Akhtar with a fast yorker. By this time Sachin was begining to take charge and hit some superb front foot shots. Warne was welcomed to the crease with a hit over midoff and a trade mark back foot cover drive in the same over. Kallis struggled early on but found some touch as the partnership added 74. But just when the partnership was looking dangerous, Warne removed Sachin for a majestic 54. Then Kallis had a slight lapse in concentration and was bowled by Harvey.
With the last recognized pair of Dravid and Lara at the crease, the inning is very much in balance. Aussies will feel that another wicket would get them in control while Fleming must be hoping for a big partnerhsip from these two. We have some exciting cricket in prospect..

PC score prediction system has predicted an awful 224 all out in 42 overs :D Can World XI beat this target by posting big score or will the Australians take charge by restricting World XI to a smaller total. Over to you Ravi.

PS: sorry guys, no video highlights this time.

Good score there S, I suppose if you had lost probably a wicket less the end score could have been really high. Nevertheless a good enough score for the first 25 overs.

World XI scores 279 off 47.5 overs

See the attached web page for the match report post 25 overs.

A good 2nd part to the innings there by the world XI to post a decent score. Should be an interesting run chase by the Aussies.
Nice highlights Ravi:cool: .
