Super Series

yeah, give bangladesh a fair go, they are still only new to test cricket. if they haven't won in about 5 years then talk about it. world cricket needs more teams.

So you'd take it away from Bangladesh then?

And you'd have taken it away from New Zealand when they didn't get a win in their first 50 odd tests? And you'd take it away from, say, England if they don't win for 30 games?
As a point of interest NZ won their first test match after 26 years. Bangladesh have only had test status for four!

i think they all should have the chance to play test cricket.i think that bangladesh and teams like that should play more friendlies.

And by the way, I think you're getting mixed up with the ICC Trophy and ICC Champions Trophy.
I wasn't mixed up dude, i was referring the ICC champions trophy or whatever name it is called at the moment not the now-cancelled non-test playing nation cup. The ICC champoins Knockout Super flash trophy cup was hosted first in Banglasdesh then Kenya (where NZ won) and then SL and now England? It's a bit of a stretch to call SL emerging but England? Come on.

mate there better than pak.and u cant argue.you aint beat us in ages.
who's better than pakistan?
and by "us" do you mean England? because NZ won the test series in England last time and drew the previous series in NZ.
I guess if we don't base this discussion on facts then I can't argue.
England are mediocrity defined.
And as for Bangladesh it was solely for political reasons that they got their test status before Kenya as Pak, India and SL wanted another country for a stronger asian voice in the ICC, which to a certain extent I agree with, Australia and especially England have too much say in the running of the international game.

No mate the decision was influenced more by commercial factor than political.
Undoubtedly the game is more popular in Bangladesh than in Kenya.
So ICC expected to make more profit from Bangladesh than from Kenya.
Another fact was that Bangladesh had the Infrastucture and also commercial backing needed to improve their standard. So they thought that Bangladesh would improve more quickly than Kenya.
For this reason they gave Bangladesh the test status inspite of the fact they struggled (or rarely succeeded)to beat Kenya in the ODIs.
ICC did it to get more money. ;)
And to enable this happen Pakistan boldly (and shamelessly :tease: )accepted defeat from the hands of Bangladesh .

No. But bangladesh should be taken off for the time being. Its giving teams easy points and if it rains Bang dont loose points.

Just for now they should be taken off

I'd actually recomend a 2 division test championship.

The current top 8 teams would make up division one and would play each other in test series home and away over a 5 year period.

Zimbabwe and Bangladesh plus the top 6 associate members would make up Division 2 and play each other in series of 4 day "b" Tests over a 5 year period. At the end of 5 years, the bottom 2 in Division 1 would play off against the top 2 in Division 2 in a 4 team knockout, with the finalists being the new division 1 teams.

I don't think that's very fair on Zimbabwe, They've fallen away a bit after a lot of retirements, e.g Campbell, Flower etc.... and the country itself is a basketcase, but that would set back the cricketing progress Zimbabwe has made over the past 10 years or so. However your 2 division idea has some merit if Kenya had test status, then the two full members playing in Div 2 would be Bangladesh and Kenya.

andrew your idea is good but their is that one flaw...like understand these nations like holland and canada just dont want to see test cirkcet right now...it willbe very boring to them...but I do agree that icc could also help ban and zim and maybe talk with ecb and let them in that four day friendly competition you guys have....or even ban or zim can play A teams or play more against each other and make a minnow rivalry cuasing more intestiny in their team...
