Due to previous incidents, however, the restrictions Symonds had agreed to would differ from those for the squad in general.

ICC allowed a replacement. BS imho. It was aus's decision to send him home , he isn't injured. Hopefully if one our boys is out of form we can fake a drunken incident to get a replacement send.
