PC: T20 Blast Tournament - Series 1 - (Round 2)

A game should not take more than 2 hours. Anyone can give 4 to 5 hours on a weekend. If someone can give just 2 hours then he can assign his deputy for the second match. Everybody wins :thumbs

2 clear hours at the exact same time as the person you're meant to be playing may be hard to come by for some though.

it would be better to make fixture and then let the members decide on a date for the respective matches, with minimum of at-least a game a week and when possible two or three games.

This.

Create a spreadsheet and ask members to fill in the times (according to GMT) they will be free on weekends and weekdays. Then cross referencing those times we should be able to arrive at a dat/time schedule.

The plan was to create a list of fixtures (containing one fixture for every team) on the Sunday night every week and then it is up to the managers to organise between them when they're going to play the game before a set time on Sunday where the results must be posted by :). That would keep it organised as well as not letting people get bored at the end because they've rushed through all their games.

If some people play 3 games a week and those with limited time only 1 then the faster will have finished his fixtures in 1/3 of the time and have to wait ages.

Venk, they'll be updated when your squad is full.

^my suggestion would be to have a flexible fixture like 'over this week these teams have to play these games kind of thing', problems of availability arise only when we round in on one particular day.
Also DBC has save feature so if need be i can start a match on friday night and complete it on sat as long as both members agree. and then post results.
Also like pixel said timezone will be a problem if we are going with only a particular day

That was the plan but I still think some would have trouble with over 1 game and it could become a bit disorganised because of that. I've never considered only a particular day so not sure where that came from :D.

What if both the manager and reserve aren't able to get online for a week and want to play their games for that week the previous week? I think a bit of flexibility of the schedule would help the league and allow managers to complete every game.

I think that's possibly a slightly unlikely situation but in that case if someone contacted me telling me both them and they're reserve would be away on a particular week in a bit of advance I'd personally be happy to help them organise something around it.

ok i think i may have misinterpreted you,
samp tell me if im understanding right now, fixtures for matches taking place over the week will be posted on sunday, then the matches have to be played over the week and results posted by next sunday. is this right , if its then i think its okay.:thumbs
does it offer the flexibility to play the matches for more than a day like continuing, given the 2 members agree?

Ah yes I see where the problem is now :D. That's what I meant :). As long as the scorecards are posted by the set time on Sunday I'd be happy for players to save/carry on later.

I was only expecting each team to play 1 match a week though.

I would still prefer full fixtures with flexibility, letting the member fix timings and go through them as quickly as possible with minimum matches per week condition,
this will counter all time zone probs and stuff, making easier matches to get done quickly for example for me playing both my matches against pixel could be done in a half day over an weekend rather than playing him over two weeks.
So this way if there is a momentum going on between members matches can get done quickly.
