PC: T20 Blast Tournament - Series 1 - (Round 2)

Problem with a team having 3 or 4 matches a week and other having just 1 is that it would not leave any room for strategy. If games are played according to some schedule then in the latter part of tournament people would know how many points they need to qualify for semis. Then they can play accordingly. Someone needing a bonus point may play more aggressively than someone who just need a win.

I would still prefer full fixtures with flexibility, letting the member fix timings and go through them as quickly as possible with minimum matches per week condition,
this will counter all time zone probs and stuff, making easier matches to get done quickly for example for me playing both my matches against pixel could be done in a half day over an weekend rather than playing him over two weeks.

As I said earlier though, if for example we did have 16 match per team then if one team played 4 matches a week they'd be done in 1 month whereas if someone else only had time for 1 a week they'd take 4 months.

That is correct but ideally i would not want that. I would want a weeks gap between playing the same opponent again so that i can analyse if i've lost then why? and thus i could practice over that before playing you again. That is why filling up a spreadsheet with date/time availability would come in handy.

Agreed:)

So samp whats the fixture you are going with 8 or 16 matches

I personally think 8 (4 home 4 away) over 2 months would be a decent way to start with a game every week but am open to any suggestions/thoughts you guys may have.

Im also inclined to agree for 8 matches for the first time, once we get to know the members and how things move along may be next time more matches.

I disagree. I think we can do 16 matches

I think 8 should be fine for the first tournament. Perhaps a second tournament could be different with more teams or games, but for now I've come round to 8 games.

Is there going to be a semi final and final? Perhaps like the IPL semis where the top two teams have a big advantage. It would be more exciting than finishing after 8 games.

I think a few of us may be capable of 2 matches a week but a good amount of us may struggle. If we drag it out over 4 months I think people will get too bored and disinterested from the tournament. Remember there will be semis and a final as well that will be another 1-2 games if you get to them.

Then lets just scrap the home and away system. Instead take 8 different pitch types from the game and make a schedule so that we have all 8 matches on different pitches.

Why would we have to do that? Why not just just 4 home 4 away? In the actual T20 blast it's actually a similar system except something weird like 6 like home 4 away :D.

What if i don't want to play against a particular team in a away match. :p

Fixtures would be randomly drawn and you get 4 home games anyway where (I assume the game would work like this) you could pick the conditions of the pitch.
