ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) has won the long-term global television production rights for the Champions League Twenty20. The channel had recently acquired the global commercial rights of the league for a period of 10 years after a successful bid. It will include angles like aerial views with Fly cameras, a boundary side field camera to showcase fielding and a new mid-wicket camera position to highlight running between the wickets that will deliver another new viewing dimension to viewers. In addition, a special anthem for the tournament has been composed by the renowned musician A R Rahman.
"Champions League Twenty20 is the marquee global tournament where only the top Twenty20 club teams from top cricketing nations qualify to compete for the greatest honour, to be adjudged as the Champion of Champions," said Manu Sawhney, Managing Director, ESPN STAR Sports. Lalit Modi, Chairman, Champions League 2020, said, "We are very pleased to award the global production rights to ESS. Over the years, ESS has produced and presented the game of cricket in a manner that is truly Gold Standard. We are confident that with many new innovative and unique features that ESS had planned for the inaugural Champions League 2020, fans across the globe can look forward to the most compelling and riveting action on television."
ESPN are set to bring more new technologies with all new style of presentation along with the new commentary team with the best commentators.
Technologies All the new technologies brought you by ESPN will be completely enjoyed by all cricketing fans. The presentation will be completely new along with many new technologies.
1)Hawkeye
Hawkeye is the best technology invented by Sky Sports and ESPN have got the rights to modify the hawkeye. This hawkeye will be different with different angles and all animated stuff.
2)Snickometer
Snickometer is used to graphically analyze sound and video, and show, purportedly, whether a fine noise, or snick, occurs as ball passes bat. Snickometer will also be fully animated.
3)Hot Spot
Another brilliant technology to be used for the Twenty20 Champions League. It the latest technology in cricket which many people are unware of. It was first used by Channel Nine of Australia but now is used widely around the world. Hot Spot is an infra-red imaging system used in cricket to determine whether the ball has struck the batsman, bat or pad. The technology was developed by the military and works by placing two infrared cameras at either end of the pitch. These cameras identify the heat generated from the ball hitting the batsman's bat or pad. A negative image is then produced using a computer system which will show the exact point of contact between the ball and the batsman.
Presentation
The presentation for the Twenty20 Champions League will be stunning. All new layouts for the scorecards, bowling cards, player stats, blowers pitchmaps, partnership graph, DeSpin, Reaction Time and much more.
Cricket Pavilion: The Commentary Team The ESPN new commentary team include some cricket experts like Sunil Gavaskar, David Lloyd, Ravi Shastri, Mark Nicholas, Nasser Hussain, Rameez Raja and Harsha Bhogle. This commentary team will cover pre-match sessions and post-match sessions including the pitch report, the toss and the presentation ceremony and few thing that will be involving the cricket fans.

Marcus North, skipper of Western Australia Warriors is certain that the Champions League Twenty20 will be a big hit. Speaking exclusively to the local newspaper in Australia, North said he was looking forward to some quality cricket when the mega event gets underway on December 3. "T20 is a great concept. We are all very excited about Champions League Twenty20, which I am sure will be one of the toughest tournaments around the world."
North went on to say that the two Indian Premier League teams taking part in Champions League Twenty20 - Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings - would provide fierce competition: "In fact not only the IPL teams, all the other sides will make sure the tournament is really hard fought." North was also quick to admit that none of the eight teams playing in this year's inaugural event should be taken too lightly.
"There will be no easy games," he said. 'We are all aware of the tough competition that lies ahead of us. That is the Aussie cricket culture as well. Tough and fierce cricket all through. Middlesex Crusaders are coming off a successful outing in the English season and they will be tough to crack. So there are basically no favourites."
North is looking forward to captaining his side against childhood hero Shane Warne, who will lead the IPL champions Rajasthan Royals: "It is a great opportunity for all the guys in the team to play against world class players like Warne. I have played against him in domestic cricket before but it will be something else playing against Warnie at an international platform. Similarly, I have also captained against Matthew Hayden when he turned out for Queensland in the Australian domestic season."
North said he was also excited at the prospect of playing against Indian star MS Dhoni, who will skipper the Chennai Super Kings: "It definitely sets the pulse racing to know that we might be up against a player like Dhoni."
The skipper, who led the Western Australian Warriors to the finals of the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, before losing to Victorian Bushrangers in the final by 32 runs, said the spirit in which the recent India-Australia Test series was played would spill over to the Champions League T20: "The kind of contest that we saw during the Tests will certainly have an impact during the tournament."
"Both India and Australia play hard cricket and it would be a great opportunity for domestic players of both countries to lock horn against each other in the company of their international stars."
Contradicting Hayden's recent statement that India was a Third World country, North said the atmosphere in India would only serve to enhance the excitement and fun of T20: "The atmosphere in India, the noise, the crowd will only enhance the excitement around Champions League T20." It is a dream come true for all of us to go and play in India and we are all looking forward to it."
: Hello and Welcome to The Cricket Pavilion Chat. We are live from the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai for the start of the first match of Champions League. The whole world is waiting for the start of the Twenty20 Champions League and now the wait is finally over as we are just few moments away from the start of the 1st T20 match of the Champions League. ESPN is bringing you this live coverage of the T20 Champions League and they have changed few things around with their technologies and presentation and the commentary team too. With me in the studio are David Lloyd, Mark Nikholas, Sunil Gavaskar and Rameez Raja. Lets hear from our cricketing experts about their views and opinions about today's match. Well Sunny welcome to the show what do you think about this Champions League and how competitive it will be?
: The whole world is waiting for the mega event this year and I cant wait for it to get started as well. The rest of the world want a competitive and entertaining battle. All the sides taking part in this mega event are playing with their full strength and are eager to perform and prove to world their quality. There is no doubt its gonna be competitive as each team playing this event, has reached the final of their domestic T20 tournament and that's due to some quality cricket they have played. This Champions League is gonna attract many fans and supporters as you can see the stadium is filling up and it is rumored that today we are going to have a full capacity. No Indian team is playing today still we are getting a full capacity that's shows how much the fans are crazy about this Champions League tournament and also Twenty20 cricket.
: You said it all Sunny no doubt this tournament is gonna attract many supporters and is also going be competitive. No lets move on today's match. First to David welcome to the show and what do you think of the chances Middlesex Crusaders have?
: First of all I must say I agree with Sunny that this tournament is gonna be attracting many followers and also is going to be competitive. Talking of today's game Middlesex will be facing tough time in this tournament. If you take a look at the squads then Victoria are with full strength but Middlesex are missing few players due to injury and also Middlesex are going through bad form. The hero with the ball in the Twenty20 Cup Final Tyron Hendersen is doubtful for the match. Kartik and Silverwood have recovered in time to play the opener and that is a boost. When it comes to batting Strauss is the main player for Middlesex as he can destroy the Victoria bowling attack with his batting and his ability to hit the ball hard and find the gaps and so is Billy Godleman. Ed Smith is back so the Shaun udal wont have to think about the captaincy now and will have to concentrate on his bowling. Overall its going to be tough for Middlesex out there today but Murali Kartik may be the key man as he knows this conditions better than anyone.
: Rightly said David, Middlesex need to perform and prove their form again and Henderson if he misses out will be a big blow. Now Mark welcome to the show and your take on Victoria Bushrangers.
: Victoria have played good cricket in the last few months and have a good squad who are capable of winning this tournament. Talking on today's match as David said Victoria will have the upper hand going in this match because they are in good form and everyone in the team are performing. Middlesex have some injury worries and are going through a poor form. But in Twenty20 cricket well anything can happen. Cameron White will have a major role to play with the ball today. Mumbai pitches do turn and stay low and if White can get some spin then he could be dangerous. In batting its going to David Hussey as he has some experience of playing in this conditions and his ability of scoring quick runs is a plus point for him. So I feel the key man for Victoria Bushrangers today may be their skipper Cameron White.
: Thank You gentlemen for your wonderful expert comments. Time to take a short break when we come back we will take you live for the Pitch Report, the toss and few interesting stats from Rameez Raja and also a special guest.
