Story T20 Champions League

Bumble summed it up
Middlesex will be facing tough time in this tournament.
and I think that they will probably go right through the tournament without a win. But lets hope that they prove me wrong and go do it for England.

: Welcome back to The Cricket Pavilion Chat. Ian Botham is on the pitch and is ready for the pitch report.

Thanks David. Good evening to all the viewers, its a cool day over with a bit of humidity. Looking at the pitch I am not surprise to see this flat track with some cracks on it. Its a wet pitch and later as the game progresses this moisture will be more. Its a typical subcontinent wicket with a bit of grass which will help the faster bowlers early on. But spin will be a major factor today. The ball will be staying low which could trouble the batsman. Its evening time and dew would be coming down and settling on the grass and so the outfield wont be lightning fast. Its a good pitch for twenty20 cricket and expect a thriller today. So win the toss and bat first because spin would be a major threat as the game progresses.

: Ian Botham with the pitch report saying that ball will be staying low and will trouble the batsman as the game progresses and also spin would be a major threat. Ravi Shastri is there on the pitch with the two captains for the toss and it will be an interesting one.

: Thank You Harsha......The crowd is in action they are all waiting to get the Twenty20 Champions League on its way so are the two captains Ed Smith and Cameron White. Ed tosses the coin .....tails is the call from White and it comes down as tails.....Victoria Bushrangers have won the toss and there a huge roar from the crowd. Well Cameron congratulations on winning the toss whats your decision.

cameronwhitepz7.png
: We will bat first. Its a wet pitch and it would just get bad as the game progresses so its better that we put up a good score on board and then defend it. And also the spinners would be a threat in the second innings.

shastriiw7oz1.png
: What's the composition of the team?

cameronwhitepz7.png
: Well the pitch looks to stay low as the game progresses and the spinners would come into play so we go in with two spinners myself and Bryce McGain.

shastriiw7oz1.png
: What score are you looking at batting first?

cameronwhitepz7.png
: Well in Twenty20 cricket no score is enough but looking at this pitch some over 150 would be a good one to defend.

shastriiw7oz1.png
: Thanks a lot Cameron White and good luck.

cameronwhitepz7.png
: Thanks Mate, Cheers

shastriiw7oz1.png
: Well Ed lost the toss disappointed with that?

edsmithws2.png
: Yeah the pitch is wet and will be staying low as the game progresses and then spinners are gonna be a huge threat. So batting first was a good option on this type of pitch.

shastriiw7oz1.png
: What about your side?

edsmithws2.png
: Well we had some injury worries before the start but tyron Henderson has passes the fitness test and he plays today while we also go with two spinners the Indian Murali Kartik and Shaun Udal.

shastriiw7oz1.png
: Well good luck for the match Ed.

edsmithws2.png
: Thanks mate.

shastriiw7oz1.png
: Back to you, Harsha.

I guess White is confident that they can post too big a total batting first no matter what the pitch. Will be a good contest.

The teams are out in the middle and the spectators are excited as their long wait is finally over and now were are just moments away from the start of the Champions League T20.

The Victoria openers are out their in the middle with Brad Hodge taking strike and Aiden Blizzard at the non-strikers end.

Get ready for the further action. Stay Tuned.

I think that Victoria will have a solid opening partnership. Awesome presentation :)

Good story here, maybe you should add your own touch to it instead of making the presentation look like gamers? ;)

Btw, where did you get that Bushrangers kit from, it looks extremely familiar with just a KFC logo smacked onto it....

Slow but Steady Start by the Bushrangers

The crowd was electrifying at the Brabourne Stadium. It took few balls for Brad Hogde who was on strike to get the first runs but he started off with a boundary hit over mid wicket and beat the fielder at fine leg. The ball showed early signs of low bounce in the first over and surely it was not going to help the batsman out there with the uneven bounce. Chris Silverwood started off well in his first over giving just 6 of it.

wi7qcg.jpg

Tim Murtagh was given the new ball to share along with Chris Silverwood from the end. He like Silverwood troubled the batsman with low bounce. Blizzard took some balls to get his first boundary over mid off. Bounce of the ball was really troubling the batsman in the center. Murtagh conceded just 4 of his first over. The two bowlers were not getting and help from the pitch except the even bounce. Hodge looked to be hitting the ball well and lofted Silverwood over mid off for four. The runs were not only coming in boundaries but also the running between the wickets was good. Both the batsman played the ball with soft hands and took the quick singles. Silverwood was a bit expensive and went for 10 of his second over.

eriis9.jpg

Tim Murtagh continued and the first ball itself he was hit over mid off for a huge six by Aiden Blizzard commonly named as Blizz in Australia. the crowd were entertained and hoped for more entertainment. But Murtagh came back brilliantly giving no runs in the next 5 balls. The 5 balls consisted of mainly the yorkers which again indicated that bowlers would have to bowl fuller balls more ofter than the length balls or else they would be punish. Silverwood was given his 3rd over of his first spell. He was impressive in the third over by conceding just 4 singles.

Scorecards

Bowling-5.jpg

IanBotham.png
: With the end of 5 overs Victoria Bushrangers have 30 runs on the board with the loss of no wickets. Its a steady start by the two openers. The pitch has nothing to offer for the faster bowlers except for uneven bounce which has caused some trouble but as it stands the game is evenly pised and Middlesex Crusaders need to take some quick wickets or else Victoria may well end up scoring a huge score.

Thats a slow start but it should be a really good game if they have wickets till the 13th over.

Nice stuff! KUTGW!!

Are you playing this on C07 or C05????
