One problem is the seeding for the Super 8 is done without any consequence to the groups. Australia will be in Group A whether they win this match or not (and finished second in the group). Not that I can imagine an Australian team purposefully losing a match, it's basically a dead-rubber to them and they could end up in a group with three group winners.

That is something that needs to be addressed. Pre-seeding needs to stop based on randomness. Groups and knockouts need to happen based on actual standings in group stages and rankings.
